"Bunny man?" He practically yelled from the drivers seat in outrage, taking a very sharp turn way too fast, "My name is Doyoung, not bunny man!"
"Well then, Doyoung, Lucas, why the fuck am I here and why do you have a gun? What was all of that? Are you dumb or something? Who was the old guy, and why didn't you let me eat my food?" I started spewing questions.
I was shocked and angry to say the least. If it had only been Lucas I may have been scared still, but Doyoung wasn't going to hurt me. I had had enough interactions with him to know he wouldn't lay a finger on me, and I'm sure that Taeyong and Johnny had filled him in on the fact that I happened to be soulmates with his friend, even if that was a nuisance.
Lucas looked to Doyoung, who gave me a hesitant smile in the rear view mirror.
"You explain it to her since you got her into this," He told Lucas.
"Well..." Lucas trailed off as if he was deep in thought, "You're here because if we left you you'd be dead."
Lucas didn't seem like he was going to elaborate, but I wasn't going to be in a car with near strangers who happened to be armed and not find out some things.
"And?" I asked in as stern of a voice as I could fake.
"We're part of an... organization. Our lives are at risk pretty often so we stay armed most of the time. Our company recently absorbed another one, and some of the senior staff was let go. He was one of them."
Lucas was being vague, but I knew damn well what he was talking about. This was some sort of gang war and my nose had put me right in the middle of it. Damn me for not wanting to wait in a line.
"Where are we going?" I asked Doyoung.
"To our corporate office," He said.
I wanted to roll my eyes at him. They didn't have a corporate office. They were in a gang. What kind of gang had a corporate office? I imagined that we would end up parked in the garage of some sort of inconspicuous house in the suburbs just outside of the city, but Doyoung took a turn and began heading straight towards the center.
The longer we drove the more anxious I felt. I was beginning to recognize all of these streets from a very long time ago, and I refused to go back to the place they lead.
We probably weren't headed there. There were hundreds of other buildings here. We were bound to stop at a different one.
My heart crept up into my throat as the familiar skyscraper loomed in front of us.
