LUKE: Thanksgiving had to be your favorite holiday of the year. I mean a whole day dedicated to eating food and hanging out with family? This year will be the first Thanksgiving in your new apartment. It's also your oppurtunity to introduce the rest of your family to your boyfriend, Luke. You had been sure to brag about him to close friends and your parents, but it was still early in your relationship. "Where does this jello go Y/N?" You'd been cleaning all morning, running out time after time to pick up last minute items, like now when you had carelessly forgotten to get the Shandy* your younger cousins requested. So while you were out, you left Luke to set the table but he facetimed you to ensure perfection. "It's not jello Luke it's cranberry sauce." You rolled your eyes pushing your cart up the aisle. "So why is it in jello form?" "I don't know Luke just rest it in the middle of the table. No one really reaches for that." By the time you got back home, the table was set, Luke was dressed and you still had 20 minutes to spare. "What if they don't like me babe?" The thought had crossed both your minds leading up today, but you never talked about it. Your parents were accepting of Luke, despite your fathers snarky remarks from time to time. You pulled on your dress, Luke helping you with the zipper, "Don't worry Luke. My parents have already bragged about how successful their daughter's boyfriend is so now worries." "You promise?" He bit on his lip ring. "They'll love you because I love you. I promise." You kissed his lips to calm him just in time to hear your doorbell ring.

CALUM: Your little sister was first to tackle you almost knocking you over completely. "Oh Y/N I haven't seen you in so long. I've missed you." You were the first child to move out your parents house leaving your sister alone. Though there's a 5 year difference, you two have a great relationship unlike most. "I've missed you too, but don't kill me now." You hugged and kissed the rest of your family while they made their way to the living room. "So Calum how've been treating my granddaughter?" You watched Calum interact with your family with ease and thanked your lucky stars you got a boy with a tan. Not to say that your family would have been oppressive toward him, but they certainly wouldn't be this relaxed. He can pass as lightskin right? "He's been taking care of my just fine grandpa. Trust me," you looked up at your fiancé, his smile reaching his eyes, "I wouldn't have said yes if he wasn't." You kissed his cheek making him flush and some of your family 'awww' on instinct. "Let's get everyone to the table, I'm starving." Your mother announced already making her way to the dining room." You and Calum walked hand in hand and sat down next to one another letting your father and mother take the heads of the table. Looking around at your family in one place laughing, chatting, and getting along filled you with a warmth you couldn't describe. "Hey, Y/N," Calum looked at you with concern, "you alright?" You smiled and kissed him softly. "Happy Thanksgiving baby."

MICHAEL: "Oh my gosh this lasagna has to be the best thing I've ever tasted in my life." You laughed at your boyfriend's face; he was always a fan of your mother's cooking. "Aw thanks Michael. I put four different types of cheese in it this time," your mother boasted proudly. Michael willingly decided to have Thanksgiving dinner with you and your parents, considering Australia doesn't have a whole holiday dedicated to food. This is why I love America, he often thought the days leading up to the holiday. "You must not be used to this much flavour Michael." Your step father said cutting into his turkey. You glared at his clear jab at the stereotype* but Michael opened his mouth before you could. "I'm not actually. My mom doesn't make this kinda stuff and being on tour all the time, I'm used to pizza and takeout." He shrugged off the insult barely noticing. "Speaking of tour aren't you leaving tomorrow?" You stilled, almost dropping your fork. Michael had been wanting to go back to Australia for a long time to see his family. You tried to pursuade him to stay for another day or two, but he also had to be in town for the Aria Awards. It was your mother's turn to glare at your father who was just eyeing Michael. It was always like this when the two were together. Your stepfather wasn't big on you not dating a black boy and would make racist and stereotypical comments while Michael kept up his respect. He knew if he disrespected your father, he could lose you. Michael's cheeks grew red from embaressment and he turned to face you for your reaction. You had been putting off the thought that he was leaving tomorrow. Tricking yourself into believing you wouldn't have to drop him to the airport the next morning. You held back your emotions and looked your father in his eyes. "Yes, Michael has to leave for Australia tomorrow where he will get to see his family and friends again. Not to mention attend an award show. But for now let's try to enjoy this lovely dinner, hmp?" Your father curled back into his food whilst your mother just smirked. Michael's hand made it's way to your thigh leaving a little squeeze of thanks.

ASHTON: After dinner, everyone migrated to their own seperate stations; the ladies stayed to clear the table while the men grabbed beers and talked amongst themselves in the backyard. You set up a movie for your little cousins to watch in the living room so everyone had something to do. "Tonight was perfect Y/A/N*." Your mother complimented, grabbing another glass of sparkling cider. You closed the door to the oven and poured yourself a glass. "Yeah everyone was able to show up and the night went by peacefully." You seconded setting the timer on the pies. Peering into the living room, you spotted Ashton animately telling a funny story with all eyes respectfully on him. You were so glad your family had come to accept Ashton despite the rough start. He caught your eye and smiled before going back to his story. Soon everyone gathered back at the table for pie when your little cousin had an idea. "My teacher says that everyone has to say something they're thankful for." Everyone seemed to agree so you each took a turn; there were some funny ones like our little brother's thanks for warmth in the house, while your uncle was greatful for health and strength. Lastly was Ashton surprisingly, "I think I'm most thankful for what I have here. A beautiful wife whose loving family I can spend time with." He smiled and kissed your wedding ring. Blushing you raised your glass in toasting, "to a great family and Thanksgiving."
