LUKE: For you, Christmas begins the day after Thanksgiving. You don't care how full or tired you are - if your tree isn't up at least by December 1st, you're convinced its bad luck. It also had to be real, hence the reason why Luke is following you around like a lost puppy right now. "Y/N, we've been out for hours. What's the big deal with the tree?" "It needs to be perfect Luke! It sets the tone for season; if it's perfect, Christmas will be perfect." After another hour, and a trip to a farm across town, Luke had presented the perfect tree; perfect height, it was full, and felt amazing to touch. "I love it, let's take it home." Once you got home, it was straight to work: lights, ornaments, and to top it off, a black angel. "Why not a star, baby?" Luke asked sipping his hot chocolate in front of the colorful masterpiece you two created. "My mother always put an angel on top of the tree to watch over us during the season. This is the same one she used all those years." You cuddled into his side content with your project and the start of the Christmas season.
CALUM: "You are not going up on that roof Y/N. Tradition be damned." Calum shouted, lacing up his boots. Growing up without a father had been hard especially around the holidays. You would pass homes done up to the nines with holiday lights all over the house and decorations on the lawn; the decorations had been no problem, but had to work alone to put lights on the house. "Calum, I've done it for years, come on! At least let me help you." Cal had been persistent on you staying in the house while he attempted to coat the house in Christmas lights. You had a technique however and wouldn't let him tread on you. "You can help, but from the ground. If you got hurt I would be devastated; you have to make it to Christmas baby." Finally deciding not to fight anymore, you suited up and went outside: him on the roof, you on the ground. You instructed, tossed him lights, held ladders, and watched as your boyfriend decorated the house. "Alright now I wanna do the lawn. Get the reindeer, sleigh, and the blow-up Santa." You instruct making a mental floor plan of your lawn. "So bossy." Calum jokes heading into the house.
MICHAEL: "I put the Christmas lights up in my room today." You told your boyfriend Michael over FaceTime. He was currently traveling to play radio Jingle Ball shows all around the world. "Ah cool lemme see." You turned from your front camera and did a 360-degree view of your room. The twinkling soft yellow lights added warmth to the room and when you looked toward the ceiling, it looked like a circle. "It's like a circle." "I was literally just thinking that!" You say quickly, laughing. A silence falls over you two despite the boys in the background on his end. "I miss you." You whisper, afraid that if you were any louder, your fault of tears would instantly open up and spill. He gave you a sad smile in return, "I miss you too baby girl. But I'll be home for Christmas so less than a month left." The smile on your face grew as you remembered that it was only a week and a half until you saw your red flame again. "Maybe we could put some lights in my room at my house when I get back? It's definitely not as festive as your room right now." "Oooo what if you just wore a Santa hat to every show? Like the ones with multi colored lights on it?" You insisted, excitement of a true fan filling you. "What if the whole band did it?" He quirked, a mischievous smile painted on his face.
ASHTON: The house was almost complete; the fake tree with built in lights had been put up and decorated with ornaments; fake snow stuff bordered the windows (and a lot of the walls thanks to Ashton) along with white hanging lights; now, you just had to hang your stockings. However this year, Ashton had the bright idea of decorating them. So he bought brand new solid red and white stockings, along with some Christmas-y items from the craft store. "Why are we doing this again?" You groan, your laziness taking over and making you question why you agreed to this. "Because it's special and it's different. These will look killer!" He was so childlike on the floor with his legs folded as he concentrated on not hot gluing his fingers. His boyish smile allowed you to push on through the afternoon, legs crossed right beside him. You two talked, snacked, and sang along to the Christmas station on your Pandora well into the night. "Okay I'm done!" He exclaimed, standing and clutching is stocking. "I added some jingle bells, a 3D drum sticker I found, and I wrote Ash. There's still some hot glue but who cares?" Adding some final touches, you joined him, ready to show off your stocking. "There's a lot of glitter obviously but um I put my name, the shoe and rhinestones you got, and I added jingle bells to put to the top of it." You smiled, walking over to the stairs to hang them on the railing. "See how fun that was? We should do this every year."
