The cause of your depression defines the time you take to snap out of it, be it the loss of a loved one, a break up, solitude, addiction of any kind, identity crisis, a chronic illness, getting fired from your job, biz crash, etc. In the end everyone has to deal with it. No one's immune to it. It can make you stronger than you could have ever imagined or turn you into a lifeless coward. It has the ability to build character in you & bring the best out of you that one fine day, you'll stand tall & hug a depressed soul & let that soul know that you understand how  they feel. Or you can take the fall.

Your past is a lesson, not a label around your neck no matter what you have been through. It doesn't define you. As long as you work on yourself, trust me, you'll be fine. In order to cross a valley, obviously, you need to walk, same goes with depression. Cross this valley of depression with confidence.

You are doomed to break down time & time again. It's okay to break down. 'Cause depression dissects your soul. It wounds the heart on a metaphysical plane. Just like a physical bruise on the skin takes its time to heal & the pain surfaces for a few days until its healed. So does depression. Let it run its course. But don't let it get the best of you.

Let your pain be your mentor on your journey to become your best self. Let your emotions run wild when you break down. Don't hold it in. Let someone you trust or something you feel cozy with hear your pain, insecurities, confounded scepticism etc. Be it a pal or a pet or a doll, etc. Letting out your sorrow, soothes the soul. You can even pray & let it out to God. If it's your pal, he/she would desire you to succeed like no other. Yeah! Your real pals will dig that. They'll definitely make time for you out of their busy schedule.

Sorry I'm not diving deeper and deeper into how miserable depression actually makes you feel. Magnifying the pain does you no good. Changing the focus is all that you need to work on.
