stupid. stupid. stupid girl.

it was a small mishap, really. you were on your way to bring billie the cup of coffee she asked for over thirty minutes ago, when just before you handed it to her you tripped and spilled the liquid all over the floor.

and now you were beginning to cry out of a mix of frustration and embarrassment. a simple task, that's all she asked you to do. but of course you had to go and mess it all up.

"ms. howard i-"

"how many times need i remind you, it's just billie." she cut you off as you stared up at her.

you felt like an idiot.

first you make her wait half an hour, then by the time you finally arrive, you spill it.

"it's fine, don't worry about the mess. i'll get someone else to clean it up."

"oh no, i can't do that! someone else shouldn't have to clean up my mess," you argued.

one eyebrow raise from her and you knew not to speak of it anymore.

"forget the coffee. i didn't really need it that bad anyway." she smiled, offering her hand for support as you got up.

"i'm sorry. it's just the line was so long and i waited and waited until i was able to place your order. if i wouldn't have been so stupid, it would be in your hands right now."

she frowned.

"i don't like when you say things like that. to me, you're perfect."

well that caught you off guard.

"come on now, we've got a long day ahead of us. and we'll take it on together, without coffee." billie smirked as gripped your hand, leading you away.
