request: sorry if this is out of your comfort zone, and if so nvm, but could you do one where the reader had an abusive childhood, but it was never a problem until venable (or whoever you see fit) brings out a belt. THEN all of a sudden the reader is all "hell no" but she doesn't understand the problem. (or something like that...)

note: tw for abuse

ally woke up next to you, a dull sunlight beginning to find its way through the cracks of the curtains. it was 6am and you'd slept through ally's alarm. it was unusual of you to do so, but she knew work had been taking much more of a toll on you than it normally would. so she stayed for a few minutes to watch you.

she enjoyed calm mornings like this, especially when they were with you. while you remained still, she'd secretly keep track of your breathing pattern as it paced itself naturally. this was even more relaxing to do so when neither of you had to work - like today. ally knew oz had school soon so she got up and quietly dressed into something casual. when she was done with her own routine, she kissed your head softly and whispered an unheard goodbye.

when ally went to knock on oz's door she noticed the bedroom light already on.

"are you dressed?" she asked and a small yes could be heard in reply.

ally cracked the door open, a smile on her face when she saw her curly haired boy already dressed and ready to go. she checked her watch and grinned in satisfaction when she realized they still had plenty of time to eat breakfast.

the both of them made their way downstairs, oz telling his mother all about the dreams he'd had. she ruffled his hair playfully, earning a light smack at the hand from her son. they separated at the end of the staircase, oz reaching for a new comic book that'd been left on the table by ally as a surprise.

"awesome! thank you mom!" oz beamed. ally looked back from the refrigerator door and winked. soon enough, ally began cooking breakfast for the two of them while oz read his comic.

it was simple put-together. eggs, toast, and a sliced banana were lovingly arranged on their plates.

"so aside from getting all A's, hows school?"

the boy set his comic down to talk to his mother. "good," he shrugged, eyes going down towards the table rather than in ally's direct line of view. she squinted her eyes at him. "something wrong?"

but oz shook his head, now fumbling with the hem of his shirt. "oz, sweetheart, you can talk to me about anything. you know that." ally pressured while reaching out to cup his chin.

he bit his lip, eventually giving into the safety of his mother. "its not school that's bothering me- it's mom." ally scrunched her eyebrows together in confusion. "what do you mean, ozzy?"

"the other day she was acting weird. she was crying and mumbling stuff about being hurt and when i went to comfort her she shut the door on me. it was like she didn't recognize me."

ally took in the information and immediately reassured oz not to worry about it and that she would handle the situation. he nodded and finished eating his breakfast before hopping in the backseat of the car.

the brunette turned on the radio and made her way to oz's school. she continued making small talk with her son, doing her best to keep his mind from wandering.

when ally dropped him off she circled back around to the house.

7:03am.

grabbing her keys, she closed the garage door and slipped back into bed. she then brought her hand to your face and gently rubbed her thumb over your cheek, a soothing effect that stirred you from your slumber.
