Tsukkishima's P.O.V
I woke up to sounds of chatter. The smell of bacon, pancakes and tamagoyaki wafted through the air, filling my lungs. I cracked open my eyes, being met with blurriness. Someone was sitting next to me, their legs crossed under my- no, our sleeping bag. I looked up, trying to make out who's face it was through the fog masking my vision.
Swampy green hair. Skinny arms and legs. A lopsided smile.
"Tadashi?" I said in a voice thick with the remminents of sleep. The boy next to me looked down and smiled brightly.
"You're awake, Tsukki! How do you feel?" He exclaimed, leaning down and planting a kiss on my forehead. I smiled at him goofily, feeling giddy when his soft lips made contact with my skin.
"Hey, babe." I said, sitting up and immediately regretting it. A headache washed over my brain like a tsunami. I winced and pinched the bridge of my nose. "Ah, jeez. What happened last night?"
"You downed a whole bottle of sake like it was nothing and got so drunk your stomach hurt. Ya know, the usual party shennanigans." Tadashi stated matter-of-factly. I chuckled and reached for my glasses, slipping them on and looking back at my love. He reached for something beside him and handed it to me.
"Orange juice. Thank you." I said, taking the glass in my hands and sipping it, a smile tugging at my lips ever so gently. Tadashi did one of those adorable and whole-hearted grins, his eyes closed and his teeth flashing. Oh lord, please still my beating heart.
I looked around the room and saw the rest of the boys' volleyball club chattering away. Tanaka looked over our way and grinned. "Yo, dude! Are you feeling alright?"
I nodded a bit and sipped my juice. Tanaka sighed with relief. "Man, I felt so bad after giving you that dare. Who knew you'd be such a lightweight?" He said. I shrugged and leaned my head against Tadashi's shoulder, trying to focus on something over than the pulsating headache I'd aquired. I closed my eyes and tried to recall some of the events that happened the previous night.
"Are you okay, Tsukki?" Tadashi mumbled to me. I nodded and wrapped my arms around him, burying my face in the crook of his neck.
"Can I just stay like this for a little bit?" I asked quietly. Tadashi nodded and rubbed circles on my back.
"Promise me you won't drink that much anymore, alright? Not that you should drink at all, we're only high schoolers after all."
I nodded, hearing him exhale with relief. We stayed like that for a while, Tadashi talking and doodling on my back with a finger while I breathed in his calming scent, drinking orange juice. I never noticed how he smelled like the mint tea he'd always drink on cold mornings, with the faint smell of the fresh parchment he paints masterpieces with.
"Well, that explains it." Suga mumbled.
"E-Explains what?" Tadashi squeaked.
"The cactus incident with the girls' team number 8." The gray haired setter responded. I thought of the incident and laughed a bit.
"Thanks again." I said. Tadashi said nothing. I sensed something was wrong and sat up, looking at his expression. It was a mixture of guilt and sadness. It ripped my heart out, to put it simply. "Hey, what's going on? Did something happen?"
He shook his head and looked up at me with eyes glazed over with tears. "I-I just feel... I just f-feel bad looking ba-back at it." He whispered. I brushed the hair out of his eyes and rubbed his freckled cheeks with my thumb.
