TW: Death
Tadashi's P.O.V
Weeks passed in a blur. It was never a dull moment when I was with my dad. He taught me games, walked through the hospital gardens with me, and had interesting conversations. I love my dad with all my heart, and these beautiful moments will make it impossibly more difficult to let go.
It seems that Tsukki is having the same problems. I FaceTimed him with Papa, as promised, and by the end of each call he was tearing up. But he always managed to smile with a few supportive words from Papa.
"Ugh, this is so difficult!!" I remarked with a groan, dropping my face onto the desk I was doing math homework at. A few chuckles came from the speaker of my phone. I looked up and glared at Tsukki, who was helping me with homework while I was away. My father insisted that I still do well at school, even while he was literally on his death bed.
"It's not that bad once you practice, Tadashi." Tsukki stated plainly. I pouted and sat up, stretching my arms and looking over my work.
"Are you sure this is math? Half of this is letters." I asked. Tsukki yawned and stretched his arms, studying my face for a second. I looked over my paper and sighed, folding my arms on top of my desk and leaning my head on them.
"Let's take a break. Your brain works best if you take a small break every 45 minutes." The blonde remarked. I lifted my head up and grinned. Tsukki smiled back a bit. We stayed silent for a few minutes, and I heard noise behind Tsukki. I furrowed my brows trying to pinpoint the sound.
"Are you at practice?" I asked, recieving a nod. I huffed and leaned back. "I told you not to call me when you're busy. Your work and practice matters too." I said softly.
Tsukki sighed and picked up the phone, moving somewhere else. "Do you guys want to talk to Tadashi?" He called out, recieving responses of nods and chatter. A few footsteps closed in, and I saw Hinata and Kageyama bouncing around an aggrivated Tsukki.
"Hi, Yama!!!" Hinata practically screamed, making Tsukki, who was right beside him, flinch.
"Hey, Yamaguchi." Kageyama said. I chuckled sheepishly and waved. I talked with a few people, glad to see them. It made me a lot happier if I'm being honest. We chatted until practice ended that day, my heart feeling lighter.
Tsukki was walking home, still talking with me. "-so Hinata got the amazing idea to try and jump over the net, and he almost made it. His foot caught on the webbing. I feel like it's always something with him or Kageyama."
"Hah, I wish I could've seen that." I said. We both chuckled softly. I heard some keys rustle outside and unlock the door of the motel room. "I'll talk to you later. I love you!"
"I love you too. See you later." He responded. I grinned when he said those four words, hanging up the phone. My mother walked in.
"Hello, Tadashi. Are you ready to go visit your dad?" She said. I nodded and smiled at her, slipping on my shoes and hoodie. We drove to the hospital, and before long we reached the building, grabbing our visitor passes and going to Room 427.
"Hi, Papa!" I exclaimed, sitting next to his bed with mom.
"Hello, sweetie." My mom told dad, squeezing his hand gently.
"If it isn't my two favorite people. Hello!" Papa said happily throughout the hoarseness in his voice. I smiled along with my mother, and the room was filled with idle chatter. We played card games, talked, and overall enjoyed eachother's company.
Time Skip
My father began coughing hoarsely and turned to me. "Honeybee, would you mind getting me a bottle of water?"
