Ava Woods' POV
RECAP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The moon disappeared, as did my last, flickering hope of escape. I bowed my head as sobs wracked my body, steadily going deeper, ever deeper into that dark hole. Soon, I was unable to see anything besides the glint of my captors' red eyes. Darkness enveloped me and fear plagued my mind, awakening my deepest fears.
I had been taken.
Ava Wood's POV
Deeper.
Darker.
Colder.
The bottom of my tunic was soon shredded, and my hands became damp, not just from puddles on the cave's floor. My arms and stomach stung from a hundred cuts and grazes from the rough stone, and my legs and back give me no mercy. Each tug my captors gave the webbing wrapped around my feet sends waves of fresh pain through me. Why couldn't I just fall unconscious, end the torture for at least a little while.
Deeper.
Darker.
Colder.
My throat was soon scratchy from my crying, and I had no more tears left. My prayers to Notch were reduced to my lips moving, mouthing the same thing over and over again.
"Please...lord Notch....please... Mercy..."
I had no idea how long this has been going on. Hours and minutes meant nothing to me in this horrid place of despair and pain.
I couldn't get out.
Couldn't run.
No one would hear my cries.
My prayers remained unanswered.
Deeper.
Darker.
Colder.
As the never-ending torture continued, I began to notice a weird noise. It was like many people snapping their fingers together at random intervals. I couldn't ignore it...several thousand clicking and screeching noises getting louder and louder all the while. The smell too, it was horrendous, as if a hundred animals were decaying in the hot sun.
