AVA WOODS' POV
He finally made it to the bottom, I knew this since he started walking straight, no more jumping, and I shuddered in relief. It didn't even occur to me how the Nether he managed to carry me and get down that sheer cliff face.
Unknowingly, his heartbeat and rocking gait was lulling me to sleep. I knew it was dangerous to fall asleep after losing too much blood, but I could not help myself. My weary, filthy little body had been pushed to its limit and beyond. Letting loose a tiny sigh, I allowed myself to begin to drift off.
Before sleep fully claimed me, I whispered a small thanks to Notch.
Perhaps he had heard me after all.

HIS POV
Why.
Why was I even doing this?
What could I possibly gain from this, other than possible suffering in the future?
I was sitting on one of the tall, jutting quartz pillars. It was midday and the sun was shining fiercely, though the clouds and cool breeze kept the desolate place a moderate temperature. I ran a hand through my longish, unkempt brown locks in frustration. I could have just left her there, or at least put her out of her misery faster. I didn't have to rescue her... Gah, why had I rescued the human!?
Growling, I stood and gathered energy, flashing away to a spot near her old house. The roof had caved in her absence, rotting boards crushing the little shack she'd called home for so long. I frowned. I hadn't even thought of bringing her back here...I had merely taken her to one of the many servant's rooms in the fortress, left some water and food, and barred the door. The dungeons had caved in and partially flooded, meaning I was unable to put her in a more secure location. Not that she could really do anything.
I sighed. I could kill her now. I wouldn't really feel anything for her. Her death would not affect me in any way.
But, I had been the one who did this to her.
"RRRRAAAAGGHHH!!!"
I whirled suddenly and planted my fist into a tree, sending it blasting from its roots and flying nearly fifty blocks through the forest before crashing to the ground with the rustling of leaves and snapping branches. My eyes flashing dangerously brighter, I again teleported to the top of the fortress pillar, then down in front of the massive build itself. I stalked into the place, seething with indecision and confusion.
