RECAP

"What's...wrong?" The...Ava's soft voice jerked me out of my thoughts, and I turned blazing eyes on her. She shrank back a little, a bit of bloody cloth in her grasp.

She needed to know...she was my only way to get out, the only help I had. I hadn't tried to teleport yet, though walking was coming easier. Should I have to flee, I would need...help... I hated to admit it, but now was not the time for previous thought processes. I was in danger, this...my valley was in danger. I had to stop them, even if I had to retreat for the time being... I would only come back stronger, wiser, I always came back...

But, for now, I had to give way to those I once called prey.

I took a breath, grimacing at the pain my wounds gave me when I stiffened, "Th-they...they're here...the...ones wh-who wounded me."

His Hiding-Place

AVA WOODS' POV

At his words, my heart began to beat a little faster as well. He was nervous, shaking and sweating even as his eyes flicked from me to the door, as if the people who injured him would burst in at any second. I swallowed, whispering out of habit from the tension, "H-how...how far away?"

He grimaced, closing his eyes, "I...d-do not have enough power to...track them directly... All I know...is that they are moving swiftly...and came in at th-the halfway point. They will be here in no l-less than four days at best... Perhaps even three."

I shivered, images of powerful warriors with weapons and armor of shimmering diamond, bearing enchantments of great power bloomed into my head, "How...many?"

In response, he grunted pushing himself up straighter, staring at the opposite wall, "It m-matters not... They are a formidable force...and I am wounded. Fighting i-is out of the question..."

          "So...we have to run?"

He glanced at me with a slightly raised brow, "You would th-throw your lot in with me...even if your own kind could possibly come to save you..."

I blinked, looking away slightly when he spoke. It was true...they could rescue me from him...why should I want to help? But just as I began to question it, resolve hardened in my chest. No...no there was something...something much bigger going on here than a powerful man who would kill seemingly without reason.

There was something wrong in this world...and only he could figure out what it was. It was a feeling my entire soul seemed to cling to, and I was almost positive Notch was blessing the decision.

HEROBRINE'S POV

A mistake, I had made a mistake. I watched, almost forgetting to breathe as she glanced away from me. Why had I even brought up this fact, she had obviously not been thinking about it. No, as much as I did not wish it, I relied on this human...
