Eclipstar's Fury (Book Two)

IV

I was up before everyone and even before the sun was up. I jumped down from the tree quietly careful not make any sound.

"Misty come down now." I whispered to her up. She hopped down and walked beside me.

A comfortable silence enveloped between us. "I want to tell you something, Eclipstar." Misty said.

"What is it?" I asked her. "Well it's about Caelen." She said.

"What about him?" I asked her seriously.
"He..he..is your..Erm" she stammered.

"Did you hear that?" I ask her and she paused her talk to listen to the faintest sound.

She started moving toward the sound and I followed her quietly. She stopped behind a tree and I gave her a pointed stare.

"Yes my Lord, everything is going according to plan." I heard a familiar voice. "I will do that, you have my word." I heard the voice again. I wanted to look at the person but Misty pulled me back.

"What the hell was that for? We could have caught the person" I whisper yell at her.

"I don't think that is a good idea." She said and I huff in annoyance. What so wrong about catching the person.

A thought ran into my mind."Hey when we were coming did we see Isabel." I asked her. She shook her head. "Wait what are you trying to say."she narrowed her eyes at me.

"What am trying to say here is, we didn't see Isabel right and the voice sounded feminine and familiar. Second of all, she is a healer. She searches for herbs so, only her is capable of coming her this early and thirdly her only excuse is she came here looking for herbs right." I ask Misty.

"You are making sense somehow. But won't she come here with a basket or something." She asks and I nodded.

"Bingo! Yes a basket. Let's see the herb she claimed she was looking for."  I moved to where she was while Misty sniffed the leaves for her scent.

"Hey look at this herb." Misty yelled all of a sudden. I look at the peculiar leaf." What is that?" I ask.

"It is a poison that causes paralysis to its victims. Its called black widow." Misty said. "Black widow like who names a herb black widow." I laugh.

"It is serious and dangerous. We have to warn the others about her. Let's head back before they get worried.

The sun had already set before we arrived. The rest were  gathered around the camp fire for today's journey.

Michael was sharpening his blades when I sat by him." Hey Mike." I greeted him to which he hugged me in return.

"You sound like something is worrying you. Are you alright?" He said feeling my  temperature.

"Hah, you know   me too well. You can say I'm worried about something more like someone." I said sighing.

He shifted and gave his attention to me." Whatever  it is you can tell me."he smiled. "Well its about Isabel. This morning I saw her speaking with someone I don't know but the person is pure evil."

"Not only that but she also took the black widow herb" I said and his mouth was wide open. "Black..wid..ow" he stuttered. I nodded.

"We have to tell the rest he said getting up. "No we wait for her next action." I said. He nodded in understanding.

"We walk today to the dark forest." I informed the rest and I saw Isabel at the corner of my eye hide something in her bag.

I walked by Michael and my sisters walked together. Theo, Isabel and Caelen walked together.

Misty as lazy she is she changed to her cat form and rested on my shoulder saying she wanted to catch some sleep.

Everything is going according to plan. You have my word my Lord.

That voice repeated in my head over and over again.

"Are you alright?" Michael grabbed my shoulder."I'm fine. I'm just worried that's all." I said.

There's something odd about this place. This isn't the way to the dark forest. This is a trap.

"Guys we are going the wrong w..." Something more like a shadow hit us. It sent us flying like rag dolls.

My head hurt from the impact. I look around to see Misty laying on the floor with a wounded leg.

I saw Theo and Caelen in a defensive stance. My sisters and Michael were also in a fighting stance.

I got up and joined them."What was that? "I asked no one in particular. " We don't know what was that." Theo yelled.

I looked around for the shadow. It moved in the trees swiftly. It shot something at me and I blocked it with my shield.

Many creatures appeared from the trees. Thus one is every man for himself.

I summoned my sword and jumped away from the group when one pounced on me. My sword sliced it head.

The rest were doing well so I concentrated on my fight. I grabbed the creature's hand before it could punch me and threw it and blasted it with ice before it could hit the ground.

I killed a lot of them before I feel my power draining from my body. The grass was filled with blood and  their bodies.

"I want to ask a question,  where is Isabel?" I asked them and they start looking for her.

"I'm right here." She said behind Caelen with a dark voice. "Caelen watch out!" I screamed but it was too late. She stabbed him with a dagger in the heart.

Caelen fell on the ground with a thud. Blood oozed from his wound. I ran to his side.

"Caelen, can you hear me." I held his head in my palms." Yes... I can't..feel..my body.."he coughed some blood.

"No..don't do this, Caelen. You can't die here." I cried gripping his shirt in my palms.

"Sorry to destroy this moment, I need to do something." She looked at us darkly before snatching my necklace from my neck.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked her." I can't tell you but I serve one person." She stepped in the necklace and it cracked.

The power in it forced its way out and made it way to my chest. It took her by surprise. It tried controlling me but I resisted.

Caelen grabbed my hand weakly. "I reserved some of your power there. You have to promise to control it or you will become insane." He coughed.

"Caelen, don't..leave me. I'm sorry I can't keep your promise this time." I whispered and let the power consume my whole body.
