When my eyes slowly open to the suns harsh rays, the only thing my mind focuses on in my dream last night, and all my regrets. The Slayer gruesomely kills people, and she ruined my life. I wish I had died too, instead of all this pain and fury that is balled up inside of me.
A gentle touch on my shoulder brings me out of my daze. A cup of fresh water is handed to me, and I smile at him, grateful of his kindness. Before I sip my water, I look at my rippled reflection.
My gently curled hair set nicely against my facial structure, and my eyes went from a darker tone of Amber at the top, to a gentle orange flame amber at the bottom. Most of the women in the tribe wish for my looks, but I know it was lies. I was less beautiful than any of them. The only difference between me and them was my eyes, amber, not brown... I sighed, not knowing what had happened to me, that one simple girl who hated bloodshed, and accepted peace and friendship. Not now at least, and maybe... Just maybe, not ever again.
I looked at my reflection one last time, before chugging it down. I didn't notice how thirsty I was until the water sprayed my throat, and I could feel it quench the dryness. I stood up slowly, and saw Will breaking the food I got ahold of yesterday. It cracked open, and he tore it in half. Some of the pulp covered seeds fell to the ground.
"Here, you need to eat something."
I gratefully grabbed the larger half, and started tearing the seeds out and throwing them into my mouth. The flavor seeped into my mouth. The juicy pulp broke, sending waves of flavor down my throat as I swallowed carefully. The small hard seeds still in my mouth sent another different wave of flavors through my mouth as my teeth crunched down onto them.
Satisfied I loosened another handful, and shoved it on my mouth.
After downing the seeds as quickly as possible, the fruit was now empty. All that was left was the hard outer shell that was inedible for humans. My stomach was satisfied of its prolonged hunger, but probably not for long.
"I'm sorry about my actions last night, my emotions were crazy and I wasn't thinking straight." I told Will before adding, "The Slayer killed my best friend and my first animal partner. I didn't make the connection until now..." Bile rose into my throat, and I felt my eyes grow darker in anger. "I was only seven, and she told me to run."
His eyes grew calm and sympathetic, as he looked at me, and my eyes started to tear up.
"Hey it's all right, we will revenge them." He smiled at me, pushing my matted bangs out of my face.
"I still remember that day, and the burden will always be on my shoulders. I will always regret..."
