We reached the lake where William's hippo, Mikalina, was staying with Jhaaronku. Jhaaronku slithered over to me. I smile, because he made a new friend. I am normally keeping him on the aggressive side when it comes to potential enemies. His 6 foot long body was warm from the sun, and the scales were smoother than normal. He slithered into a ball of the large pocket in my dress.

William touched my shoulder, and a weird tingling feeling spread through it. My cheeks grew into a bright shade of pink. I turned my face away from him, so he couldn't see my embarrassment.

I had only felt this way for one other boy, but he just used me. After I found out I killed him, making it a slow and painful death.

As my cheeks grew back to a normal color, I turned back to him. A smile was plastered across my face. He gave my a sheepish little grin back. My eyes still didn't lock into his. I looked into his eyes in astonishment when he pushed my long bangs out of my face. He was looking deeply into mine. I just couldn't pull away. His face grew as red as a tomato as he pulled his gaze from mine. He scratched the back of his neck in embarrasment. I knew he was flirting with me, but I don't do the whole romance thing. I did take it all in though. I turned around when William did, and I saw the bushes shaking. I grabbed a dagger from my back holster and held it tightly. William grasped his long sharp sword, and was ready to strike. His face was filled with suprise and determination.

A black panther lept out of the bushes and attacked William. He took his sword and fumbled it at the panthers chest. It missed the aimed spot, but still sliced the panthers forearm. Blood started to well out of the open wound. I stopped watching thier battle when I heard a zebra bark out a call. I whipped my attention over to the sound and watched as a zebra leaped over a log that had fallen on its side. I jumped to the side, as the zebra sprinted past, and dug the dagger deeply into its rear end.the zebra called out in pain, and reared on its front legs, and the back legs made contact. It stung like hell, even though it only grazed one finger. I grabbed another daggers with my left hand, and as the zebra came back, I threw it into the zebras neck. It sent out another bark in pain, before head butting me in the shoulder and running back off to where it came. I was barely able to slice my dagger out of the zebras hind quarters and blood dyed my hands a deep scarlet red. My shoulder was on fire, and as I tried to move it, it felt worse than the dagger that was once jabbed in there. I used my good arm to grab my right wrist, and pull my shoulder back into place. M face wrenched into a tight painful manner, and I dug my nails into my arm to keep me from screaming. William was washing blood of off him from the lake. He looked back to me, double checking to make sure I was alright. I forced a smile and I waved with my good arm with tons of blood on it. He went back to washing the blood off and I went over to join him. My new little treasure.
