Harrowing winds whistled against the windows, as Macy tossed and turned in bed. Her slumber was tainted by frequent nightmares. One of which reoccurred, night after night. She'd cry out in her sleep with her body desperate to wake up.

Macy shot back to the age of four, she dreamt of a man in all black showing up at the house, yet she couldn't see his face, as shades covered it. In the nightmare, her own mother wanders to the front door, and creaks it open, "Leave! You can't be here!" she would order, as the dark man banged onto the door again and again, he grumbles words that can't be understood.

It isn't until Paul comes, and finally shoves the door shut. A few more words are exchanged but still can never be heard. The dream would follow her through life, ever since she was four it reoccurred. In all type of places she slept, at school camp it would happen in the very room, somehow they'd all show up too.

She'd return to that age, when it happened. She never confronted anyone about it. She'd always wake up just as the police sirens, and flashy lights appeared, and the man burst through the door.

Unknowing to her, a similar occurrence happened in real life. Her mother Bianca tried to suppress the memory, but it always flashback when she thought of him. Dallas did a lot of questionable things, but for some reason this always stuck with Bianca... that late night knock..

December 4th, 1998. 11:22 P.M. FLASHBACK

At a soft twenty one years of age, Bianca had just married Paul, and moved into his home with her two daughters. As she began to nod off on the couch one night, nearly falling asleep there came a sudden knock at the door. The twins were fast asleep in their room by now, Paul was in the bedroom, and didn't notice it.

Bianca thinking it was just in her head, thought she was hearing things, and closed her eyes again, that is when it became hammering. She jumped to her feet, and peaked out the peep hole. Her eyes deceived her, she stood gob smacked for a minute at who she saw.

Unknowingly to her, Macy had woken up startled to the noise, and peaked out her bedroom door at the whole ordeal. She had heard from people that Dallas was released earlier than year a from jail, but she tried her hardest to ignore it. From whispers on the street, that he was now married to addicted to coke again, she didn't know what to believe.

Bianca didn't want to know about it, she denied everything, she just didn't want to see or hear of him ever again. When she thought about staying away, it was only because she couldn't face the harsh truth.

Unhurriedly she decide to creak open the door. Her heart stopped as she said that name which hurt her so, "Dallas?" she whispered, praying he'd not hear and somehow leave, never to return. Instead he grind his teeth together, "I'm he-here for my k-kids." he slurred, then almost fell over his own feet, obviously intoxicated.

The scent of hard alcohol brought back memories of the road, and all the agonising thoughts that came along with it. By the point it had been a little under three years, she'd always be reminded of that time when she looked in her daughters faces.

Bianca squeezed her eyes tight, her hands trembled on the door handle of which she didn't allow herself to let go of, it became way to painful to even glance at him, "You can't be here." she struggled, trying hard not to cry, wishing that Paul would hear and come to the rescue.

Dallas huffed and puffed, stomping his feet on the floor, "You've g-got to be f**king kidding m-me!?"  he ripped. Pushing hard against the door, "Where the f*** a-are they!?"  Bianca fought back, shoving the door, "Paul?" she cried out as loud as she could manage, and he came running.

Paul was stunned, and took over for Bianca, "Dallas, you must leave now!" he said aggressively, becoming over protective of his wife. Bianca raced to the phone, and dialled the police. Dallas stopped, and collapsed on the lawn, giving out short fake whimpers like a small child. Bianca could see how much Delia had taken after him, even at a young age.

He was only 23 at the time. Lost, family less in the sense that he never wanted anything to do with his large family. He hadn't even met the twins, and couldn't stomach that Paul had taken over role as a father. But most of all he couldn't take the fact that Bianca left him, that was the biggest shock of them all.

That was the breaking point for Bianca. Paul and her moved the family across the town to somewhere he wouldn't find them. She was that afraid for herself and daughters, she had to take harsh measures to ensure their safety.

That night Dallas arrested and taken into care, but released a few months later. Bianca hadn't heard from him since.
