Over the course of that merry night, Dallas and Bianca placed dozens of presents under the sparkling tree, disguising it as Santa's work. Loanne was still oblivious to the fact he wasn't real, Bianca wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible.

It was the last thing that she expected Dallas to help her with. Since he didn't have a childhood, Dallas hated Christmas. He hated everything that he couldn't understand. As the two of them dropped onto the couch after all that work, Bianca rested her head against his arm, "I've been waiting for this moment for all of my life." she whispered.

For as long as she could remember, this image of having the whole family together had been so dear to her. Having Dallas back, and being in his warmth made all the memories come back to her.

She hadn't finished crying after leaving Dallas for months until Paul showed up at her mothers house. In that instance Bianca banished all of the memories of Dallas, it's so hard to believe that she didn't think of him for so long.

December 25th, 2011. 9:51 A.M.

The Christmas tree is ridiculously tall, not much by most people's standards, but to Dallas it was enormous. He wobbled on the ladder to hang up lights, the tip if the tree scrapes the ceiling making no room for a star.

After all the excitement the past week, Bianca hadn't a moment to spare to even think about the tree. It wasn't until Loanne asked about, she didn't yet know the truth about old Santa Claus. At the last moment Dallas and Bianca drove down to buy one of the last trees left, after about an hour or so of Dallas attempting to lift it into the house he finally made it work.

As the morning came, the house filled with family members. Both Amy and Steve with their college beyond son and new born, Bianca's grandmother from her fathers side who barely spoke a lick of English and Steve's rich parents. Of course she knew her mother would arrive late, but that didn't make it any less anxiety ridden. She hadn't yet found out the news.

Everyone gathered around shredding open gifts, Dallas sat back, watching as the festivities went about. He didn't care much for it, yet loved to see his daughters reactions and happiness. He couldn't believe this was his first Christmas with them, and first for himself.

Macy plopped down on the couch besides her father, "Is it true that you hate Christmas dad?" she wondered how someone could hate such a great time. Dallas smiled, "Not now I don't." he surprised himself by saying that.

An sudden knock at the door lets everyone know that Bianca's mother had arrived. They all buckle up for this years drama that failed to happen over dinner the night before. The mother was helped into the house, this time she wobbled on a cane towards the armchair in the corner. Everyone went about their business, while her gaze leered.

Her face turns paler than flour, with an abrupt shrill of her voice startling everyone in the room, "I can't believe you would let this happen under your roof Bianca. What type of mother are you to let this junkie back into your life, let alone your own daughters lives?"

"That's enough." Dallas stood up hastily, "I'm not letting you do this now." he yelled. The time had come where they had it out for each other, she never had the chance to do it years ago and neither did he. Bianca stepped forward in Dally's defence, "Mom, the second you laid eyes on him you had it out for him."

The mother scrunches her nose, "I can smell the drugs from over here!" she claimed, blocking her nose from the fake stench. Dallas waved her off, "Oh stuff it, I've been sober for years." he argued back.

"Bianca you're supposed to be a mother, and you're allowing this addict into your life again." her mother tried to reason but it was no use. Bianca already made up her mind a long time ago. Deep down she knew the real Dallas Winston, the one who was fearless even when he didn't look it. "Back off!" Bianca screamed.

"So, you think you can make her happy. Paul is unmatched!" quipped the mother, pointing a finger at him. "Hey!" Dallas chimed in, "I've got my life in control."

"Oh Dallas honey, you're never had your shit together. Since day one you were that messed up kid roaming the streets. For some unknown reason you decided to sweep in and contaminate my daughter." the mother accused, as she glared a hole through him.

"Your a piece of work." he sneered. This was not the time or place to be doing this, especially in front of Delia, Macy and Loanne.

Her whole existence was riddled with snide complaints about him. The hatred was pure fiction from the truth, she saw Dallas as this dangerous man who stole Bianca's life away. The fact that the two of them have their lives together now is proof enough that he wasn't the problem.

"Jesus Christ! I am sick to death of people only seeing me as the victim or his little puppy following his every trail. I chose to run, he asked me and I said yes. When we got into trouble he asked again and I chose him again. It was me your daughter, your sister, your mother who said yes!"  Bianca cried, trying so hard to get through to her mother.
