Chapter 1
It's five days away.
What, you ask? My expiration date. Everyone is born with one. And it's fucking stupid.
It doesn't even bother telling you what year. You just get to be scared shitless for one day a year. I've seen people flat out board themselves up in their houses. Hell, even stupid Deku is afraid of that shit. Once in middle school, he didn't come to school for an entire week because of it. His excuse was that his mom was worried for him and made him stay inside the whole week, but I know damn well that wasn't the case, because his mom came over to our house and was talking about how worried she was that he wouldn't come out of his room.
But... I don't really know what to do on this day. In the past, I've stayed home at least twice. But most of the time I just go about my day and don't do as many dangerous things as I normally would. I feel like I've been getting lucky this entire time. It doesn't feel like I should be alive at all. Like I should've died a long time ago...
The alarm beside my bed goes off. Well, I guess I can figure out what I'll do later. I still have until Friday, anyways, and it's Monday today. I shake the heavy blankets off my body and sit up with my legs dangling off the side of the bed. I don't really feel like going to school today, but if I want good grades I have to go.
I shake away my thoughts and prepare myself for school. Showering, brushing my teeth, doing my hair, all that stuff. I finish my daily routine by placing my school supplies in my bag.

The bell rings, signalling that it's lunch time. I pack my bag with the papers we received from the human loudspeaker. God, he's loud. I get a headache after every class. Just as I'm about to leave, someone calls my name.
"Yo, Bakugou! Do you have a moment?"
I turn around to face Shitty Hair. What the hell could he possibly want this time? "What is it, hair for brains?" I growl at him. He stops in front of me, holding his hands behind his back. Is he hiding something? "U-Um..." he stutters. I raise an eyebrow.
We stood in an incredibly awkward silence that lasted for about five seconds, but felt like five whole years. "U-Um-" I mock. "Do you need something? Or are you too brain dead to remember that much?" He shakes his hands in front of him. Guess he wasn't hiding anything. "Nonono! I was just gonna ask you a question!!" he responds. I cross my arms. "Then ASK me." He nods his head. "U-Uh, do you want to go... on a date with me...?" he mutters loud enough for me to hear.
... Did I hear that correctly? Kirishima wants to go on a date with me of all people?? "Y-You don't have to if you don't want to! I was just wondering-" ''Sure." I interrupt him. His surprised and anxious face immediately changes to a bright and happy smile. So bright- "R-Really?! Awesome! Where do you wanna go?" he asks. I raise an eyebrow again. "You asked me on a date without even thinking of where to take me?" I question. He freezes for a moment. "U-Uhm... Maybe?" he giggles. I pinch my nose and sigh. "Well think of something. You asked." I say, waving at him as I walk away.
...
HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK WHY DID HE H-
Ok ok, calm down, Katsuki. It's just a date. You've been on plenty of dates.
And by many I mean absolutely none. I mean, most people aren't really attracted to guys who scream all the time. So why the hell did KIRISHIMA, of all people, ask me out? We're basically opposites. He's always happy, and I'm always angry. Not exactly a "power couple" in my book.
...
Why'd I call us a couple? He only asked me out, it's not like I agreed to date him or anything. Isn't that how it works? ...Oh god, what if that's not how it works. I sit down at an empty table in the lunchroom and pull out my phone. I quickly open up a browser search engine as soon as it unlocks.
None of the results were really that helpful, though. It was just advice on what to do if you get asked out and stuff like that. It's not helpful at all in my case. Maybe I should ask someone in person? I scan the lunch room for someone I know.
As I'm looking, someone slides their lunch tray onto the table I'm sitting at. I glance at them. It's just Jiro. Thank god it's not one of Kirishima's weird friends, or else they'd all show up. "Yo." she says. I squint my eyes. "Why are you sitting here, Headphone Jack?" I ask aggressively. She shrugs. "I thought you'd want someone to accompany you, since Mina's going around telling everyone that you and Kirishima are going on a date." I jumped out of my seat. "She's WHAT?!" Everyone around us looks at me. I glare back at them, causing them to go back to whatever they were doing before.
Jiro continues talking. "Yeah, since she's the one who pushes Kirishima to act on his feelings. She thinks she's cupid now, or something like that." I hold my head in my hands. "... Man, this week can't get any worse..." I mutter. "Why's that?" she asks. Crap, I didn't mean to say that so loudly. "Do you not want to go on a date or something with Kirishima? Because if you don't-" I cut her off. Nono, that's not it. Going on a date with him would be great, it's just..." I trail off, glancing at my wrist. Five days away... Jiro notices me looking at the date. "Is your expiration date coming up soon?" she asks. I glare at her, then rest my head against my hand and look away. "M-Maybe." She scoffs. "Dude, there's nothing to be worried about. Well, maybe there is, but you'll probably be fine. Most people don't die an early death because of it." she says. "Yeah, I know. Most people get old and shit and die on the date written. Those must be the saddest people in the world..." I trail off. Jiro tilts her head. "Why's that?" I cross my arms on the table, shifting in my seat. "Those people lived their entire life probably thinking they'd die an early death. And then they didn't. That sucks." I say. We sit in silence. I guess she doesn't have anything to say about that.
I decided to break the silence with a new topic. "Hey, I got a question." I ask. She turns her attention back to me. "You and Ponytail are dating, right?" She nods her head. "Yeah, why?" I take a deep breath. I don't like talking about personal stuff. Bleh. "So, when one of you asked the other out, did that immediately make you guys a couple?" I ask. She smirks. "Ahh, you wanna know if you and Kirishima are dating, eh?" I glare at her. "Answer the question!!"
She thinks for a moment. "Hmm, well it really depends on the situation. In my case, we didn't officially start dating until she asked me during the first date. Did Kirishima ask you if you wanted to be his boyfriend?" I shake my head. "No." "Then he'll probably ask you during the date. Probably during the most romantic part of the entire thing."
The lunch bell rings again, signalling that lunch is over. "Oh, that sucks. Well, nice talking to you for once, Bakugou!" Jiro says as she walks away from the table, heading back to class. I don't move, though. I just sit there and think.
During the first date, huh?
