You know those people, that are just so peaceful to watch sleep?
Ronald is one of those people. The way he moves around. The way he breathes, even the way he opens his eyes for a split second and closes them back up. He's the poster boy for serenity.

"Is he awake yet", Chadwick asked as I came down the stairs
"Yeah, he's in the shower", the only working shower in this house might I add.

Grabbing some water, bandages and a fresh shirt for Ron i scurried back up to my room. Ron was sitting on the bed, shirtless, attempting to towel dry his hair.
"Let me see the Booboo", I mocked as he reached his arm out showing me the bow damage.

"My arm is numb"

"I'd imagine so, you took an arrow there, and you were out In The forest, so it might even be infected"

"Gross"

"Lucky for you, I'm going to take care of you", I bandaged his arm to stop any further bleeding.

"And I can't tell you how grateful I am for that"

"What was it like?", I asked changing the subjects

"What was what like?"

"Being out in the forest... Alone..."

"Not knowing if I was going to make it?" He stated filling in my sentence
I nodded

"It's not as scary as thinking you're safe and fearing to die any minute. Because if you know you're in danger, the fear just goes away. It's scarier here", he looked at his surroundings, "sure we're safe now, but for how long?"

"Ron"

"I'm not trying to upset you Connie, that's just how I see it"

The door opened
"Hey guys can-", Tyler stopped when he saw Ron shirtless, lifting his eyebrows in a cocky way, "am I interrupting something?"

"No", Ron answered putting on the fresh shirt I brought for him, "I just woke up. Need anything?"
"Yeah, Chadwick wants me to check the basement but I don't want to go alone. Any volunteers?"
"I'll go", Ron said standing up

"You can't, you're hurt", I complained
"I'm fine, it's just the basement I can handle it"
"If you go Im Coming with you two"
"Fine by me, just stay behind me"

"Wait, you'll need weapons", Tyler pointed out, giving Ron a machete
"What about me?", I asked
He simply handed me a fork
"I ran out of knifes", He chuckled
"Thaaaaaaanks", I chirped sarcastically.

As we made our way to the basement, Gibson, one of the other group members, decided to join us.
"So what should we be expecting", he asked
"This is a creepy house. No one knows what to expect", I answered.

Down in the basement, all there was were random pipes and old Christmas stuff. I decided to check out the decorations, while the others scouted out the rest of the areas. I looked at the Christmas tree and then I saw him.
A little boy. About 8 years of age. He had already turned into a zombie. He looked at me and started sprinting, but his foot was caught in one of the boxes.

I couldn't help but tear up at the sight. An 8 year old boy, such a tender age. I couldn't kill him.
"Connie what are you doing?!", I heard Ron shout.
He headed my direction, about to get rid of him.
"No Ron!", I pleaded, "look at him. He's a child"
"He's dead", Ron reminded
"I don't want to harm him"
"He's dead"
"Ron"
"Connie. He's dead. Just close your eyes."
I did as he said, the only sound I heard next was silence.
"Is it over?"

"The basements clear", Tyler stated, "oh... Never mind, looks like we have to burn that one", he updated, removing the boy's body.

"I know you didn't want to kill him because you saw him as a kid, but I had to do what I had to do", Ron tried to comfort

"I know, it's fine. It was the right thing to do. Sometimes I just forget what kind of situation we're dealing with here."

"I wish I could say it will all get better, but I don't like to lie"

I don't know when I'll be updating again but I'll try to make it less than a week from now. Anyway HAPPY THANKSGIVING to the American readers and have a great day -
