New Mommy

Willow's p.o.v.

Nightmare

I woke up in a dark room alone and started calling out for my daddy but there was no answer,

"Daddy? Uncle Trender? Mercy? Anybody?" I called but nobody answered me. 

I picked up Finny and Bon Bon as I began searching for some sort of light or anybody I knew but it was too dark to see anything. As I was looking around I tripped over something and fell to my hands and knees onto something wet and warm. When the light suddenly turned on I was surrounded by blood and I looked to see what I had tripped over and found Splendy's corpse. I screamed and backed away from him and bumped into something else. I turned my head to see what was behind me and found Trender behind me covered in blood dead.

Screaming I stood up and looked around to find I was surrounded by corpses. My eyes darted to each of them in horror to find Offender, Slender, Mercy, Jinkx, and everyone else dead and some were even mutilated. I fell to my knees crying as I crawled to Splendy and gently shook him.

"Daddy please wake up. I'm scared. Please! You promised you'd never leave me! Please wake up I need you! Daddy please!" I begged but got no response from him. I did however get a response I didn't want.

"You worthless piece of shit brat. Did you really think he loved you? That he even wanted you?" A voice spat behind me and I turned around to find the caretaker from  the orphanage standing there behind me. I shrunk down in fear as she towered over me.

"B-but he adopted me. He took care of me. H-he said he loved me!" I cried and she laughed cruelly before she backhanded me.

"Nobody would ever want you. You're just a freak, nothing but a burden that we have to take care of. Nobody will ever love you and you'll just die alone. Exactly how it should be. Mistakes like you don't deserve love. They don't deserve a family." She spat and I curled up in a ball as she began beating me like she would when I was in the orphanage. I looked up hoping to find someone that would help me and found Scarlett standing there.

"Why do I even bother trying to protect you? You're so weak and pathetic. Why did I have to get stuck with you of all people?" She spat hatefully and I just cried as I sat there beaten senselessly.

Nightmare over

I jolted awake and looked around the room frightened and found myself in bed next to Splendy. Calming down a little, I gently shook him trying to wake him up but he wouldn't respond so I slipped out of bed and made my way down the hall holding my bunnies as I quietly cried. When I made it to Mercy's room, I opened the door and went to her bed to find her asleep. I felt bad for waking her up but I needed someone.

"Mercy are you awake?" I asked quietly and she slowly sat up and rubbed her eye before turning her attention to me. I guess she noticed I had been crying because she picked me up and sat me on her lap.

"Hey what's wrong sweetheart?" she asked and I hiccuped as I rubbed my eyes.

"I had a nightmare" I whined and she held me close and rubbed my back.

"Oh sweetie I'm sorry, come here, where's Splendy?" she asked as she started rocking me calming me down.

"I tried to wake him up but I couldn't so I came to you. It felt so real!" I cried and started crying again as my nightmare played through my head. I buried my face in her chest as I cried and she kept rocking me while rubbing my back and it helped calm me down. 

"Do you want to tell me about it? Maybe that might help." She suggested and I hiccuped as I rubbed my eye and nodded. I explained my nightmare to her as she held me and by the time I finished I was crying again as I held onto Mercy tightly afraid that if I let o I'd be back in my nightmare. I felt Mercy kiss the top of my head while she rocked me trying her best to calm me down.

"Shh , it's alright sweetheart it was just a dream. It can't hurt you, I promise I won't let it. And you know what?"

"What?" I asked and looked at her as she gently wiped my tears away.

"That mean old hag was just jealous of how special and amazing you are. Plus we're all okay. I'm here, Splendy is here, and so is Trender.  Everything is okay and I promise I will never ever leave you." She promised and I smiled. I yawned and rubbed my eye tired and rested my head on Mercy's shoulder.

"Can I stay here and sleep with you miss Mercy?" 

"Of course sweetie." she said laying back down as I curled up in her arms.

"Thank you mommy, I love you, goodnight." I said as I fell back asleep feeling safe in her arms.

Splendor's p.o.v.

I woke up the next morning and sat up as I stretched and yawned. Looking next to me I expected to see Willow asleep beside me but instead I found an empty space and quickly got out of bed worried. 

"Willow sweetie where are you?!" I called but there was only silence. 

I left my room and started searching for her but couldn't find her anywhere as I grew more and more worried. Eventually I decided to ask Mercy and went to her room forgetting to knock as I was too worried about Willow. Mercy turned her head to look at me and quickly placed a finger against her lips to keep me quiet and I nodded as she looked at something beside her. I came closer to her bed and relaxed when I found Willow beside her sleeping peacefully.

"Thank goodness, I've been looking everywhere for her." 

"She came to me last night after she had a nightmare because she couldn't get you to wake up." She explained and I felt horrible .

"Oh dear I can't believe I did that! I'm so sorry!" I quickly apologized and she nodded.

"It's alright...Is it normal for her to call someone mommy?" She asked and I looked at her confused before it hit me what she meant and my mouth fell open in shock.

"No. In fact she's never done that. Are you saying she called you mommy last night?" I asked and she nodded making me smile.

"Oh my she sees you as her mother how wonderful!" I exclaimed and she smiled before seeming worried about something.

"The problem is that whenever she is distressed I have an almost motherly instinct kick in and that's never happened before. I don't even know how to take care of a child let alone comfort one." She explained and I thought about it for a moment. Could this be what Trender was telling me about yesterday?

"I'm not entirely sure why that's happening." I said and Trender entered the room.

"I see you've found little Willow brother?" He asked and I nodded.

"It seems Willow sees Mercy as her mother now. She called her mommy last night." 

"That's absolutely adorable!" Trender exclaimed and I'm guessing he had woken Willow up because Mercy glared at us.

"Now look what you've done! You've woken her up! What part of she had a nightmare and she needs her rest do you two not understand!? I'll give you both three seconds before I skin you alive and two are already up." Mercy spat obviously irritated and Trender and I looked at each other before running out of the room and shutting the door behind us.

"Is that normal?" I asked Trender once we were outside Mercy's room and he shook his head.

"No. She's never acted like that and has never shouted at me before." he said and I thought about it for a moment.

"Maybe it's something similar to Willow?" I suggested and he just shrugged. Our attention was turned to the door as Mercy walked out holding Willow against her waist while Willow had her face hidden in Mercy's neck. I smiled wishing I could take a picture as I awed at how cute they were and Mercy sat Willow down.

"Daddy!" Willow cried as she ran to me and hugged my waist and I smiled as I picked her up.

"Well we better be getting home. Thanks again for the help brother" I thanked and Trender nodded.

"Anytime brother." he said and we left as Willow waved goodbye

"Bye bye uncle Trender, bye bye mommy." she said and I smiled as we left.
