Caretaker

Willow's p.o.v.

On our way to the ice cream shop Splendy had picked me up and placed me on his shoulders as we walked and I smiled and played with his top hat on the way. We eventually made it to the small shop and he set me down so we could enter and I looked around curious. It was a cozy little shop with a few booths and table here and there. I followed Splendy to the counter and stood on my toes to see all the different ice cream flavors they had. 

"Hello there! What can I get for you today?" A man behind the counter asked and I hid behind Splendy who looked at me and smiled before turning to the man.

"Sorry about that, she's a little shy around strangers."

"That's no problem at all, I completely understand." He said smiling 

"Willow tell the nice man what you would like." Splendy encouraged as he gently pushed me in front of him and I squeaked as I hid behind my rabbits and slowly crept to the counter to look at the choices. 

"Cotton candy please" I requested and pointed at it through the glass making the man chuckle as he got to work getting what I wanted. When he finished he leaned over the counter and handed me an ice cream cone with the ice cream I had asked for. I smiled and looked up at Splendy who was smiling at me.

"What do say to the nice man?" He asked and I turned to the man at the counter.

"Thank you mister!" I exclaimed and he smiled and laughed.

"No problem sweetie. That'll be $5 sir." He said and I made my way to a booth and sat down while Splendy paid. 

While I sat there eating my ice cream I felt like someone was watching me but when I looked around I didn't see anyone watching me so I shrugged it off as Zalgo watching me through Finny's eyes again and continued to eat my ice cream. I smiled when Splendy sat down across from me and let him have some of my ice cream laughing when it got on his nose. He laughed with me and we finished the ice cream before getting up to leave.

"Daddy I gotta use the bathroom."

"Okay sweetie. I'll hold your bunnies for you while you go okay?" 

"Okay daddy." I agreed and handed him Finny, Bon Bon, and Vivi before going to the restroom. While I was in there I heard the door open and close and thought nothing of it since there were other stalls and when I finished I opened my stall and went to wash my hands until someone grabbed my wrist. When I looked at them my stomach dropped seeing the abusive caretaker of the orphanage I ran from.

"M-Miss. Stevens" I stuttered and she grinned .

"So you survived after all you worthless pest. Well we'll see how long that lasts after  I'm through with you."

Splendy's p.o.v.

I sat at a table as I waited for Willow to finish and stared at the rabbit she had gotten from Jason disgusted. I was startled however when the power to the shop suddenly went out and I heard multiple loud pops of lightbulbs shattering coming from the bathroom. Fearing the worst, I got up and rushed to the bathroom to find Willow struggling to pull herself free from a woman who looked to be in her mid forties.

"Let go of me! I don't wanna go back please!" Willow pleaded but the woman only tightened her grip making Willow shriek in pain.

"You're coming back to the orphanage with me whether you like it or not. You've been a pain in my ass since the day I got you and I'm gonna put an end to it!" The woman spat and I frowned as I placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Let go of my daughter now." I demanded and she turned to face me only to smirk 

"Sorry but this brat isn't your daughter she's just a run away that needs to be punished. Now if you'll excuse me I need to get this one back where she belongs."  She said and began dragging Willow to the door.

"Daddy please don't let her take me! I don't wanna go back there please!" Willow cried and I quickly pulled the woman's hand off of Willow's wrist and growled seeing the bloody nail marks on Willows wrist as I pulled her to me.

"Excuse me but that child doesn't belong to you. You are not her legal parent nor will you ever be!" She spat as she began to march back over to Willow and I regained my slender form making the woman stop and look up at me in horror.

"I suggest you leave and never come after Willow again. If you do I can assure you that you won't make it out alive. Do I make myself clear?" I growled and she swallowed a lump in her throat before nodding and bolting out of the bathroom. 

Once she left I turned my attention to Willow who was having a panic attack as she clung to me tightly while shaking.

"Shh it's okay Willow I'm right here. I won't allow her to hurt you ever again sweetie I promise." I cooed trying my best to calm her down and tilted her head up to look at me seeing her eyes shine brighter than normal and I heard a buzzing sound coming from the lights. 

"Willow dear I need you to calm down for me. Your emotions are causing your powers to become unstable. Come on sweetie breathe for me. You're safe now I promise." I said as I held her close to my chest and rubbed her back. I flinched a bit when another lightbulb in the ceiling popped and glass fell to the floor. I knew I had to do something before her powers went completely out of control so I grabbed her rabbits with my tendrils and quickly teleported to Slender's mansion and went inside.

"Slender I need you down here now!" I shouted and he appeared in front of me almost instantly noticing the state Willow was in.

"What happened?" He asked and I sighed.

"The caretaker from the orphanage she came from found her and tried to take her. She's having a panic attack and her powers are becoming unstable." I explained and I could tell Slender wasn't too pleased with the situation.

"I told you this would happen Splendor-" He started but I cut him off 

"I KNOW! I know you did but for once can you not throw something in my face when it blows up and actually help me!" I exclaimed and he went silent for a moment before motioning for me to follow him.

I followed him to a room that had quite a bit of damage to it and looked like a tornado had come through. I looked at him confused.

"We have to let her expel that built up energy somehow and I'd rather it be here than used against us. Just set her in here and we'll check on her in an hour or so." He said and I looked at willow unsure because I didn't want to leave her alone while she was scared like this.

"I'm going in with her." 

"Splendor you can't be serious. She could seriously injure you if not kill while in this state." He protested but I ignored him.

"I'm not leaving her. She's terrified and leaving her alone right now is the last thing she needs." I argued and stepped inside holding her and sat down in the middle of the room with her on my lap. I held her close as glass shattered, wood splintered, walls cracked, and lights flickered before popping.

"It's okay sweetheart. I'm right here. I swear I'm not leaving you. Daddy's right here and he loves you so much. We'll get through this together. I promise."
