Chapter Five

  As days passed by, the rumors and gossips popped out of everywhere. But in the mean while, Jay and I spend a lot more time together and as for Kurt, we grew farther every day, and he just deserve a cold shoulder for now. Whenever Jay asked me out, it’s always a surprise and I liked it more and more. I really tried to be a good and loving girlfriend of him, and I guess I’m succeeding and getting used to it. When my parents found about us, they were so happy for us. They’re probably arranging a marriage if I know. But by all means of this, I’m just incredibly happy and also busy. Jay and I are both varsity so we spend time in training together in studies and sometimes in house for music jamming. It’s a good contributing factor that we both love music and reading, so we have a lot of things to do together.

            “Hey babe.” Jay greeted tome as he planted a quick peck on my cheeks and I blushed lightly at this. He then also greeted Lu and Beth who are obviously texting Luke and Carlo.

            “Are they always like this?” He asked when he sat by my side, placing a hand on my waist as he pointed with his other hand the two who are undisturbed by us. I just nodded and we both chuckled when both of their phones rang and in surprised they almost slipped it to the ground, and they just groaned in frustration when we laughed eve more when they found out, it’s us who called them.

            “You’re mean.” Lu said to us as she groaned once more before we heard the last bell of the school signaling that the school is almost done in the day. We all got up and was about to leave when a familiar voice interrupted us; and its Kurt.

            “Kate can we talk?” I heard him say, we all turned around and Jay’s gripped to my hand tightened a little before putting his hand on me protectively.

            “What for?”I snapped at him rudely, he flinched a little but nevertheless he still continued to approach. And just a few seconds, Jay was in front of me protecting from something dangerous.

            “Jay.” I whispered to his ears as I tiptoed to reach it. He turned to look at me and I saw in his eyes the question he was about to asked, but I shut him off by a quick kiss on the lips and smiled warmly to him.

            “Ssssh. I can do it Jay, try not to worry too much alright? And just wait for in the car.” I said softly to him and planted another chaste kiss on his lips.

            “Bye.” Lu and Beth yelled to me as I waved them of and mouthed to them a good luck in their date.

            “Now of to go Jay.” I said to him and he nodded and smiled to me encouragingly. When I’m sure Jay is already gone. I turned to Kurt and nodded to him to start what he wants to talk about as I tapped my foot rather impatient.

            “Now what?” I asked as my patience slowly drips off. When I thought he won’t talk, I started to turn my back on him when he suddenly spoke in a soft voice.

            “I’m sorry I didn’t trust your judgment, I’m sorry I ordered you like a robot, I’m sorry that I’ve hurt you. I know I deserve a cold shoulder but please don’t do that again. I missed you; you’re like my best friend my sister, I can’t take that you’re not talking to me.” He said almost in the verge of tears when he finished.

            “Give me one good and enough reason why I should forgive you.” I told a little bit nicer than before. Am I really ready to forgive him? Maybe yes, I’m fine now, it’s not bad to take him back to my life’s picture right? I guess.

            “Because you’re the only one I’ve trusted and talk upon, and I missed it. You gave me hope in things I almost gave up and surrender. And I promise I won’t try doing the same mistake I did. Just forgive me and I’ll change, for the better.” He stated firmly yet truthful. I don’t know what to say, I missed him too, but just a try won’t hurt right?

            “I don’t know Kurt. I forgive you, but going back the way we used to be almost a month ago. It’s not that easy.” I told him with apologetic eyes. I hope he understands that it’s not that easy.

            “I know. Just knowing you forgave me is enough.” He said with a smile.

            I glanced up at my wrist watch and grumbled something. It’s about time to leave, it’s getting late, I thought to myself. I nodded once more to Kurt and bid goodbye to him, telling that I must go, for Jay might get worried and run here in a tantrum mode.

            I run outside the school grounds to find Jay out of his car and is quickly pacing back and forth. I watched him eagerly and thought for a while. Am a growing fond of him? No. Do I like him? Maybe yes. Am I falling for him? No matter how I try and like for it’s the best for me, it’s still a no. Do I still love Kurt?  I really can’t say it, especially now that I forgave him. After thinking about some things, I decided to interrupt Jay in his muttering mode.

            “Hmmm. Someone’s worried.” I told to him and in an instance he tackled me with a hug and just rested that way for a few minutes as he sometimes sway lightly. He broke the embrace and inspected me if I have any bruise or scratch or something. And as a relief, he sighed and slowly plant reassuring kisses in my cheeks, lips, and jaw. I smiled at his actions and he smiled as well.

            “Let’s go home now Ly.” He said as he pulled away from me but remained holding my hand to his. He guides me to his car and let me in and got in as well after a few moments. We drove in silence that was very calming and peaceful. And not until we reached our house that my eyelids felt heavy and very tired and so I ended up sleeping.
