START OF FLASH BACK
Tomorrow is my 17th birthday, and I am really excited. Who wouldn’t be? My dad promised me a credit card, awesome right? I know. So before I sleep, I’ll just jot down in my dearest diary.
Dear Piggy Babe (hey! That’s what I call my diary.)
I just realized that I am getting older tomorrow. And for that I decided to go and move on from the boy next door in our campus. I mean, I really do like him, but he doesn’t like me back. You know what hurts more? It’s because he is my dream guy; he is smart, cute, cool, and from what I’ve heard he is a loyal, caring and sweet boyfriend. Gush! I need to let this stupid puppy love. Wake up Katelyn Martinez! Grow up! Gush!
àIf a person isn’t interested in you, then leave. It’s as simple as that. Don’t beg, don’t look back, and don’t cry.
If this person can’t appreciate who you are, then you don’t need him or her in your life. Choose to be with someone who sees the beauty that is sometimes too well hidden. ß
Those words remained stuck into my head. Lucy is right. But what if? But no, it can’t be. You know how much is the chance is? It’s .99% over 100%, silly I am right? Gush! Oh well, just wish me luck tomorrow at my day. Goodnight piggy babe.
Sincerely yours,
Foolish Kate =)
September 12th; 6:37 am
I woke up still groggy but absolutely excited and happy. Today is my day! I am 17 today. Hmmm. Credit card, here I come. But first things first. I got up really quick after a quick glance at my alarm clock. Seriously? Who the hell invented that noisy little-battery-life thing? Gush. Anyway, after I saw that it’s already 6:40 in the morning, a jolt of energy made me move fast. I grabbed a pair of socks, my favorite shirt, which is designed with an electric guitar in front and my name at the back. I also grabbed my red converse and headed for the bathroom. While taking a bath, my mind drifted to what may happen today. Are Lucy and Maribeth planning something? By the way, they’re my best friends since Jay left (he’s my boy best friend, but he left so it’s useless.). After a handful of bath, I quickly changed and in a count of one, two, three, my mom yelled to me.
“Kaaaaaaaaaaaaatelyn! You’re going to be late now. Get down here!” My mother-Julie, said to me
“I’m coming!” I yelled back to her.
But what I saw when I reached down stairs made me gasp. In the kitchen was my mom and dad (Mark). And before I forgot my twin brothers are there too (Mark and Marco). They sung a birthday song to me, and handed me each their gift. My dad’s was a credit card of course, my mom’s was a brand new acoustic guitar and lastly my brothers’ was, well, I don’t know.
“Katieee!” Mark and Marco said in unison.
“Yes?” I asked them as I approached them before the front door.
“Since it’s your birthday, and we don’t have any money, we are left with only one choice. And that is, we won’t bother you today and we will be the greatest and best brother to you.” Marco said grinning proudly at his well rehearsed speech.
“Is that so Mark?” I asked him as I pinched his cheeks that are now turning pink.
“Hmm. How about a whole week?” I said as I bargain them my PSP and laptop. And just like what I suspected, they agreed easily. After bargaining with, I kissed their cheeks before they became truly engulfed with my gadgets. I bid goodbye to mom and dad.
