Allura stood like a strong oak tree next to Lance as they waited in the dining room.

"You can sit down, you know", Lance offered. Allura shook her head. "I want to make sure I'm prepared", she responded.

Lance scoffed, "For what? You think my father will attack me with a butter knife?".

Allura glared at him. Lance chuckled awkwardly as he turned back to staring at the table cloth.

But Lance was thankful that Allura was so good at her job. Without here Lance was sure to be dead.

His thoughts were rudely interrupted when the door opened. Both their eyes shifted to the new character that entered.

Lance expected it to be his father. But instead, it was a whole new person. Lance didn't even know who this person was.

He was a tall lanky man. A large grey suit strapped onto his body. His hair ruffled up and it looked as if it wasn't even brushed.

And Lance's eyes cascaded down to the briefcase he was holding.

"Where's my father?", Lance questioned as the man pulled out a chair.

The mysterious man cleared his throat, a look of uncomfortableness on his face.

"Mister Mcclain, your father has sadly, sadly passed on", the man suddenly said.

Lance stared at him. A blank cold stare on his face. Allura showed the same expression. Except her eyes were on Lance instead of the man who bore this news.

"I offer my condolences, but in his will, he asked you to come here to settle some things", the man explained. He then opened his mysterious briefcase and pulled out a few papers.

"What is this?", Lance hissed out.

"His will of course. He is entrusting you the family manor and the rest of his earnings", the man explained. He then set down a pen next to the paper and slid it towards Lance.

"Can't Veronica get all this? I don't want this", Lance spat. The man gave a sad smile. "Before he passed, he grabbed a pen and scribbled out her name. We don't really know the reason why, but rumors have been going around that she has been fraternizing with another woman! Why would your father entrust her with all this?", the man chuckled out. As if it was all a joke.

Lance glared at him. He really didn't want this mansion. He didn't want it at all.

But at the same time, it felt as if he had no choice.

Allura watched with sad eyes as Lance signed his name on the paper.

"Thank you Lance Mcclain, your father would be proud of you", the man praised in a gleeful voice.

Lance had to hold his words in his mouth, since the first thing he wanted to say was, bullshit.
