"YOU HAVE TO COME ALONG!"

I sighed, continuing to walk as Perla trailed behind me. "Perls, we talked about this. No. I'm not going to go," I shook my head, her snow boots stomping on the ground roughly as she attempted to fit her feet into my footprints, preventing her from slipping more often. I fixed my thick sweater, bundling it around myself more. "I'm not interested."

She begged, "Please! C'mon, just this once! I heard Y/n's going too," Her brows wiggled suggestively, as if convinced that I'd say yes solely for that reason. Now, she wasn't wrong, but she could've at least been a bit more subtle with her wording. "I regret telling you that I called her cute," I deadpanned, continuing the walk home.

Perla frowned, "I know you're upset that Krolia and Kosmo left a few days ago, but it'd be nice to spend Christmas Eve with the others, right? Plus, Allura said she had some kind of surprise planned." She shrugged, seeming to know nothing about the event. I glanced over my shoulder, "You're not going to leave me alone about this, are you?"

She childishly shook her head, sticking a tongue out as her teal, snowflake covered curls followed her movements. "Fine, I'll go," I spoke, inhaling sharply as she grinned triumphantly. "On one condition, as long as Y/n goes, I'll go. I need to talk to her about the project anyways. It's weird to barge in her home and she texts, but not that much."

Perla nodded reluctantly, rolling her eyes and muttering something about me having an 'amateur crush'. I glared at her shortly before speeding up my pace, grinning to myself when I heard her yelp and squeak when her butt hit the snow on the sidewalk. "Keith Kogane!" She angrily yelled, using her sprite's barrier to walk more steadily.

"Sorry, can't hear you over the sound of the fucking choir!" I referred to the people that go door to door, singing carols. Perla grumbled behind me, yelling something again, but this time I couldn't actually hear her. I headed inside quickly, leaving the door just slightly ajar for Perla before cleaning the snow off my boots and packing my stuff away.

We weren't heading home from school, but rather the small shops that had lots of sales around Christmas time. She had dragged me around to find a gift for Lance and after successfully finding one, we had begun our trek home. I took off my slightly soggy clothes once I got in the bathroom, making sure I had everything before locking the door and stripping.

I entered the shower, sighing in relief once the hot water relaxed my slightly tense muscles. The front door slammed shut and from the angry stomping, I could tell Perla got home. She thumped on the bathroom's door too, probably scowling beyond the wood. "Y/n is coming and Allura just sent the address! We leave in two hours, so hurry your ass up!"

I called back, "Don't get your panties in a twist!"

She didn't respond, so I suspected that she went into her room. I quickly finished my routine, putting on a fresh pair of clothes. Once I walked out, Perla pushed past me to go into the shower herself. I snorted, rolling my eyes at her dramatic behavior before running the towel through my hair a few times, grabbing a few things and lazing on the couch afterwards.

A few hours passed of me just switching between TV channels and Perla eventually joining me in the middle of The Lion King. "Of course you watch the most depressing shit," She sighed, almost disappointed as I rolled my eyes and continued watching the movie. She checked her phone casually, "Oh, the Uber's here. Let's go."

She called an Uber? Is it that far of a walk? We usually walked everywhere since everything was so close together, but I didn't question anything as I ducked inside the car. She ran back to the door, checking that it was locked before following after me. Perla gave some kind of address, one that I didn't care to pay attention to listen to.

I watched the city lights blur together, lulling me to a short nap. The jolt of the car coming to a stop and Perla punching my shoulder made me wake up as I scowled, looking at her bitterly. She innocently paid the Uber driver as the both of us climbed out of the car, meeting up with the others. Shiro let out a breath, creating a white puff in the air.

"So, we're just waiting for Y/n," For some reason, I felt a bit anxious at the mention of her name. Maybe because I haven't seen her in a while? Perla gave me a sly smile and a wink before turning to Lance, starting a conversation with him. I'm not sure how much time passed from just hearing Pidge ramble about something, but I felt like my legs were going to snap at any moment.

Shiro was the first one to bring up the topic, Allura beside him as she checked her phone constantly. "Anyone heard from Y/n?" Shiro blurted all of a sudden as we all looked up at the question, sharing a look before shaking our heads. "Not even you, Keith? She seems to text you the most out of all of us," He cocked his head to the side, frowning.

I just nodded again, confirming my previous answer. "See?" I pulled up our recent texts, but there was nothing out of topic other than the project. He sighed and nodded grimly, leaning back and shoving his hands into his pants. "It's been thirty minutes, any moment now and we'll lose our room—"

As if on cue, the man at the front yelled. "—if you all don't come in and claim your room now, I'll have to give it away!" They all looked at me consecutively, as if expecting something. Although I understood what they meant, I still acted like I was puzzled. "We'll reserve the room, can you go look for Y/n? You have enhanced senses," He muttered.

My eyes widened. Why didn't I think of this before?! My voice was gruff, my eyes turning a bright gold as I looked back at them. "You all owe me," I immediately sprinted away, catching her scent and tracing it. Please don't be far. . .
