Switch Destiny

Chapter 11

Gasping, Zhan Yao woke up with his scream stuck in his throat. Sweat running down his temple, he got up of the bed and ran towards the bathroom turning on the shower, not caring about the cold water freezing his warm body.

"Puppy" called Bai Yu Tong who was startled in the middle of the night by the loud voice of Zhan Yao who woke him up in terror. He knocked the bathroom door to meet with him but the other wouldn't want to open.

Sliding down the shower wall, he rocked back and forth, hoping to forget about his terrifying nightmare. Willing to do anything as long as it wipes out of his memory. Zhan Yao knew such a thing can't be possible since the day he layed his eyes on that scary woman yet things are getting worse now.

He got up and put his bathrobe, hoping a cup of coffee might help him forget, knowing that sleeping back was out of the question now. He went out to see the pale face of Yu Tong wearing an anxious expression while waiting for him outside of the bath.

"Sorry, it's just another nightmare" Looking at the time, it was 3 o'clock in the morning. Zhan Yao didn't want to worry him even more so he forced a fake smile to show him that  he was alright. His heart was beating fast and his mind was preoccupied by the sight of the elegant lady in his dreams.

"Go back to sleep we have classes tomorrow" He walked his way to the kitchen. Yu Tong quietly followed him and hugged him gently stoping any coming move forward. They remained that way for quite a moment to relieve the stress away from both their minds and bodies.

"Yu Tong, we are alone" He meant that hugging was only possible when they are around friends. They were pretending but their hearts never were, cherishing every single moment being together as a precious reflection of their hidden love. Yu Tong knew everything that happened to him and helped however it was possible.

He was his lifeline, his brother, friend and lover and most importantly his life saviour. Bai Yu Tong tightened his grip before he groaned as he forgot about his injured hand. Making Zhan Yao a bit worried he averted his body to look at Yu Tong's hand and saw the bandage soaked in blood.

"Oh my God, let's change this quickly" The two sat quietly on the couch working on Yu Tong's bandage before Zhan Yao started crying suddenly. He remembered the importance of this only person and how was he hurt because of him. He has no one who could wake up in the middle of the night to give him comfort aside of him.

"I don't have anyone left in my life but you. I can't survive if you are not here" Zhan Yao threw himself in the comfortable embrace of Bai Yu Tong putting his pride aside and only cared to seek shelter and safety. He recalled some of the images from his nightmare that had him frozen on the spot.

"What is it?" Feeling Zhan Yao's shaking hands as he wrapped them around his waist, Bai Yu Tong waited in silence until the other calmed down and started to open up for him about the scary dream he had a moment ago that somehow made him so confused wether it was a dream a vision.

"My father was in a dark room screaming for help, Yu Tong my father is in pain and no one can rescue him"

"What did you see other than that?" The worried tone of Bai Yu Tong seemed to increase reading carefully between Zhan Yao's lines and trying to understand his dream focusing on each word aside.

"My mother, she was laughing and behind her was standing my grandmother trying to catch her but couldn't. She told me to take care of my dad before it's too late and both went together leaving him screaming in pain, I was standing there trying to help him but never I was able to reach to him"

"Tomorrow after class let's go see him, okay?" A huge smile took over Zhan Yao's face after Yu Tong said that. Not caring anymore he rested his body in the warm embrace of his life saviour and lover. Zhan Yao unexpectedly followed Bai Yu Tong to his room and jumped on his bed with while pleading with his puppy eyes.
