Chapter 12

Everyone kept silent in a moment of astonishment when Bai Yu Tong joined his standing father and Zhan Yao who were facing eachother. He awkwardly looked at his father's displeased face, staring at Zhan Yao as if he was his enemy.

Zhan Yao couldn't avoid Mr. Bai Yu's sharp glares, he was scared out of his wits. He wasn't able to lift his head for as long as he was caged within his strong deep eyes. Before Zhan Yao could take another inhale someone interrupted the heavy silent coming from the Dean's office.

"Mr. Bai Yu please welcome, my bad if I knew you were coming, I would have welcomed you myself." The Dean was so worried about the sudden visit that his legs were clearly shaking and his face showed an anxious expression while his lips were stretching with a fake smile.

The timing was just wrong for Zhan Yao to stand there in the cold of unwelcoming glares. He didn't know what to do when he looked around to see people walking toward the same direction inside the university Dean's office. He was waiting since earlier, for god knows how long.

"Mr. Bai Yu Tong why don't you joing me and your father to my office"

"Is Zhan Yao coming too?" Asked Bai Yu Tong before he could answer, his father was just surprised for his son to invite someone he doesn't know inside while his eyes were merciless the way they looked to the poor quiet young man.

"Um.. no, he will wait" The Dean apologized and escorted them inside. Before they walk away toward the other direction. Zhan Yao had a bad presentiment, his hand was holding tightly onto his books, in case he feels weak so not to drop them. They were so precious.

He was suddenly distracted from his worries when someone hit him by the shoulder. Bai Yu Tong came back for him, Zhan Yao turned to look at him. They just glanced at eachother before the other grabbed his wrist and forced him to join them inside. walking after Yu Tong. Zhan Yao didn't stop staring at his back before groaning in frustration.

"Are you crazy, he said I need to wait" whispered Zhan Yao slowly into Bai Yu Tong's ear not wanting to make a big fuss and drive the attention of the men surrounding them. He was dead worried to be chased out of the office and embarrass himself when Yu Tong was the one to force him in.

"Shut up and do as I say, I want you to meet my dad"

"No, please Yu Tong. I am scared" Taking one last look at the back of Yu Tong while being forcefully dragged inside Zhan Yao and without realising, already found himself walking through the door and stepping inside. The two men raised their heads in denial looking at his blushing face that was buried down.

"Please have a seat" The Dean smiled and let the two sit facing Bai Yu Tong's father on the opposite side. Zhan Yao was about to explode. He sat there very politely while his face looked down, he put his phone on a silent mode and put it inside his handbag, leaving his coat on his lap.

He cups his cheeks before sighing again. Zhan Yao felt like a lifeless person. He couldn't cope with the strong sarcasm coming from the opposite direction. After a few minutes, He could finally hear the voice of the bumptious businessman. He sent shiver down his spine as he listens to his thick strong voice.

The secretary just brought them tea and didn't bring Zhan Yao's share since she didn't know he will be sitting here with them. But this was not a problem. Bai Yu Tong gasped that and quickly pushed his cup of tea and placed it in front of Zhan Yao. He was not aware of what was going on around him. His eyes kept only following his lover.

Zhan Yao was feeling thirsty and his throat was so dry like being abandoned in a lifless desert for a long time. He immediately took a few sips. He felt the hot tea go down his throat and somehow burning him hard. He closed his eyes trying to hide his pain but Yu Tong was still watching him.
