Chapter 6: An ex for an ex

When Max reached school he found a note in his locker it said: "Meet me at lunch outside, near the exit gates, and don't bring anyone with you.. -ANONYMOUS"

Max ripped the note and threw it in the bin

"Whoa dude why did you do that" George said

"Because I don't wanna talk to Ella," He said walking to his first lesson

After that, during the break, Max walked by the exit gate to talk to the security who always gave him money for lunch, because his mom kept forgetting

"Max you can't ignore me forever," said a person behind him

"Or can I," Max said trying to ignore

that person

"Max, my mom died!" Ella said turning him around

"Haha this must be a joke," Max said ignoring her

"It isn't... Don't you recognize me? Not even my voice?" Ella said almost crying

"I don't recognize anything. Back Off. I don't even know who you are." Max said turning around

" Not even my face?" Ella said when a tear went down her cheek

" No, now back off. I don't want to talk to you, you are dead to me for now" Max said

"Max, it was one kiss. It means nothing." " I thought Jay-Jay changed... And even if he did, there's not even one percent possibility for me to go back to him" Ella said while another tear went down her cheek

" Jay-Jay?" Max continued giving a small laugh " You go back to your 'Jay-Jay' and I'll continue with my life. You have given me enough heart attacks."

"Max!" Ella said weeping " It was one kiss... Just one... it was meaningless. It was nothing"

That's when Ella's best friend, Vanessa, walked next to Ella.

"Hey Ella, it's been a long time... Why are you crying though?" Vanessa said curiously

" If it was one kiss and it meant nothing then.." Max said walking towards Vanessa, slowly.

"Oh, Hi Ma-" Vanessa was interrupted by Max and the graceful kiss both of them shared for 5 seconds straight.

"Here, if that kiss meant nothing neither did this one," Max said walking away.

"Max! Why me? Why are you doing this to me? Jacob was my ex" Ella said shouting

Max stopped walking and said, " Well if he was your ex, she's my current girlfriend." " And I am NOT hesitating!!"

Ella didn't know how to react, but she couldn't hold back her tears. That's when Vanessa said, "I know how it feels Ella, but I couldn't do anything to stop."

"It's fine Vanessa, it's Max's fault," Ella said sobbing uncontrollably. Vanessa then put her hand on Ella's shoulder and walked away back to class.

Max and Vanessa were in the same Maths class, and surprisingly, they were both paired up together for an assignment. Which was just perfect for Max. But was it for Vanessa?

"Max, hey," Vanessa said walking towards their table.

"Hey Nessa, how you doin'?" Max said

Vanessa was surprised, did Max just do a 'Joey'? Vanessa sat down at the table, and said "Max, What was that outside? You hurt Ella!" Vanessa quietly shouted

"Vanessa, you're my GF, of course, I could kiss you," Max said

"GF? Since when? When did this happen?"
