"That's me done with OWLs!" Lilith said triumphantly as she linked arms with Sanya, who had been waiting outside the exam hall. "Probably will just scrape a pass in Potions, but who cares? Certainly not me, not till July, at least."
"I'm very happy for you." The third year grinned at her friend's infectious excitement. Her own exams had finished the day before. "What would you like to do to celebrate the end of your exams, most of which you'll fail?"
"Rude." Lilith booped her nose. "And well- there IS a Hogsmeade weekend tomorrow, but I'm going with Pete-"
"I'm meeting up with Al too." Sanya said before rolling her eyes. "I meant NOW, Lilith."
"Why can't we just go to Honeydukes or Zonko's? WHY the Shrieking Shack?"
"Because you've never been! I went ONCE in third year with James and Fred but we didn't even go in properly! Come on! We can go to 'dukes after." Lilith attempted to compromise with her friend as they- well, one half-skipped, the other strolled- down to Hogsmeade.
"Fine. I suppose it could be interesting..."
"What ISN'T 'fine' is the fact you didn't tell me you were in possession of THE Marauders' Map!"
"I only borrowed it- well, I share it with Al but it SHOULD be okay, or we'd never have been able to sneak out!"
"I wish you weren't always right."
Sanya shrugged, "Not always."
"95% of the time."
"98.6."
"That's bullshit! How's this fair?" Lilith growled, amidst sending as many unlocking spells as possible at what seemed to be an invisible shield around the building.
"I don't think they care whether how they keep students out of a decaying death trap is fair or not." Sanya pointed out, where she was watching her friend in amusement.
"What're you smirking at? We're not going to 'dukes until we get in!" Lilith told her friend, who rolled her eyes and walked to her side, drawing her wand and pointing it at the spot Lilith had cast countless spells.
"Why're you trying to unlock a wall?"
The redhead narrowed her eyes at her friend as the younger Gryff spoke, "Minuas."
Immediately silver flakes appeared, crumbling as a wall appeared in front of them.
"See! I'm a genius!" Lilith declared, "I told you we'd get in!"
"YOU'RE the genius, Miss Alohamora-a-wall?" Sanya replied with an unimpressed raised eyebrow before the redhead grabbed her hand and half dragged her to a broken window.
"Lumos Maxima." Sanya whispered, and the tip of her wand glowed white and illuminated all their surroundings.
"See the scratches..." Lilith said, eyes wide, as she looked at the wall. "Made by Teddy's- Lily's eldest brother- dad, you know."
"I know." Her friend said shortly, thinking how horrible it was to keep him locked up in here once a month because something which was not his fault would happen to him. "Barbaric as it is, this is pretty cool."
"Wish I had a camera." Lilith started to touch a faded blood stain but Sanya called, "Come on, there's more rooms here. And I think there's a nice little exit, so we don't have to worry about going through Hogsmeade again."
The redhead stared at her, not liking the smile on her face as she said 'nice little exit'. "But- but 'dukes?"
"I'm not a sweet tooth." The brunette shrugged, casting light everywhere. "Come on."
