"I've got it!" Jon nearly trampled over Louis to get to James. "I know what was wrong with you!"
Heart rate quickening and palms feeling clammy despite himself, James turned to his fellow Quidditch player. "Do tell, Champion boy."
"In front of-" Jonathan looked around the crowd and continued only when James nodded. "You like Clissa, don't you? It makes sense- and I've worked on it a lot, I couldn't help it, I couldn't think of anything but you."
Ignoring the fluttering in his stomach at those words- he KNEW he shouldn't have eaten Hagrid's rock cakes prior to the party- James shook his head at him. "Your intelligence surely didn't make you Champion, that's for sure. And what do you mean, haven't you been focusing on the Second Task?"
"Not as much as I ought to have." The brunet admitted sheepishly. "Just tell me, Jamie, please!"
"Don't call me Jamie, Jonathan." The Potter replied stiffly and virtually Disapparated, he'd turned and left so fast.
"He'll tell you soon enough." Susan said as she appeared, Lysander trailing after her like a puppy and as soon as she disappeared, another Pevensie took her place- Peter.
"When he's ready." He added ominously.
"It's a rather big thing, or so the prat thinks." Lilith, lipstick same shade as the failed-to-be-removed marks on Peter's neck, said earnestly as well. "Don't hold it against him."
"And focus on the Task!" Peter called once more before the two disappeared through the crowd as well.
Jonathan stared after them, shook. "What the fuck just happened?"
"Oh shit, I forgot it was New Year's!" Lilith spoke as someone charmed a large clock on the wall.
"As if you'd expect James Potter to organise a full party just for the sake of it!" Susan spoke (quite tipsily giggled?), from beside her.
"I heard my name!" The eldest Potter's voice was heard, joining Susan, Lilith and their respective boyfriends.
"Probably slagging you off- not that I'd argue with them." Fred Weasley also appeared, dragging a disgruntled Lily and Scorpius behind him- Lilith could only presume he'd just pulled them apart.
"Who're we slagging off?" Sanya spoke, leading both Albus, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie (everyone was far too drunk to question how she'd gotten in), through the crowd.
"We're not bringing in a New Year with verbally attacking people!" Rose spoke up, appearing from nowhere.
"But it was James we were about to start on!"
"Ouch!" James spoke, but downed the bottle of Firewhiskey in his hand.
"Oh, Very well. Keep going." Rose spoke, smiling pointedly at her cousin who glared once he'd finished the bottle.
"10!"
Lucy's excited voice cut through the oncoming bicker, dragging everyone's attention to the clock.
"9- 8- 7- 6- 5- 4- 3-"
"Oh, no! I forgot to add 4 Squid guts to the-"
"Rose!"
"Sorry!"
"2-1!"
"You don't mind if I kiss- uff." Peter's anxious question was cut off by Lilith's lips as soon as the countdown ended.
"What do you think?" She whispered, tone as intoxicating as the alcohol they had drank.
He didn't reply, simply brought his redhead back into him.
