Scare

"Mickey!" I yelled, trying to sit up and breathing heavily.

"Mickey!" I screamed & seen his light flick on.

"B? You okay?"

"There's blood Mickey." I cried, seeing the blood between my legs.

"Fuck."

I lost him.
I lost Bub.

"It's okay, hey, come on B, you're okay."

I cried on his shoulder & he rang the ambulance.

They eventually arrived & I held his hand as we drove to the hospital.

They took me in to the room & the doctor came straight in.

"Bailee, how you feeling?" He asked, looking between my legs.

"Is he okay?"

"I need an ultrasound now." The doctor ordered as the nurses organised the machines.

I put my head back & sobbed, this can't be happening right now.

"Mom?" Mickey said, seeing her look through the panel on the door.

He opened the door for her & she rubbed my hair back.

"You're okay honey." She whispered, but I seen the tears in her eyes.

"Did I lose him?" I cried to the doctor & he looked at the ultra sound screen.

"See that Bailee, that's your bub's heartbeat."

"So he's okay?"

"He's okay." The doctor said & I took a deep breath, clutching my stomach.

"So what was all the blood doc?" Mickey asked as Tara hugged me.

"Fluid. It's not common but it's totally fine. Just a little scare."

He nodded & held my hand as the doctor left.

"Did someone call Kalyn?"

"Yeah I texted him in the ambulance."

"You wanna call him darl?" Tara asked, handing me her phone.

I nodded & they both left, leaving me to talk to him.

"Mom? Is the baby alright?"

"Hi, it's me. The baby's okay." I sighed, missing his voice.

"Oh thank god. You alright baby? I'm so sorry I wasn't there. I feel like an idiot."

"It's okay, I'm fine. It was a bit of fluid, not common but not terrible."

"Okay, god that must've been so scary baby, I'm sorry."

"It was terrible."

He sighed & I cried.
"I thought I lost him."

"Honey, it's okay. He's still there."

"There was blood & I couldn't breathe properly."

"God. I'll come home tomorrow, you're too close for me to be away right now."

I nodded and he sighed.

"I feel fucking pathetic that I'm not even there to protect you."

"It's fine Kay. I just miss you so bad."

"I miss you more baby. Any pains or it's not hurting anymore?"

"No they've given me the drip & I'll be spending the night in here to keep an eye on me. Your mom's gonna stay with me."

"Oh good, I'm gonna go see the guys & book a flight home okay? I love you."

"Love you more, I'll ring you later."

"Okay baby, bye."

I ended the call & they came back in the room.

"You're okay B?" Mickey asked, handing me a cup of water.

I nodded & rubbed my stomach.

"Kalyn's gonna book a flight home tomorrow."

"Your right mate?" John, Kalyn's dad said, coming in the room too.

"Much better now. Just a bit of a scare." I sighed, putting my head back on the pillow as he kissed my forehead.

"Kay coming home tomorrow?"

"Yeah, booking a flight now."

"Oh good, she have to spend the night in here?"

"Yeah." Tara said, "I'll stay with her."

"Yeah okay, I'll take you home with me after Mickey."

"Yeah please."

"We'll let you rest now honey. I'll be outside in the waiting room if you need me okay?"

I nodded and they left, and I went back to bed.
