It was just approaching half an hour as Toni sat on the floor shivering and holding Niko. It felt like it was only getting colder. She hadn't noticed him move in a few minutes, "Niko?" She called out looking down at him. He'd fell asleep.
Where were the police? Did they not understand how serious this was?
Picking up the phone, she dialed Kenny's number.
"Hello?" He answered trying to talk over the party guests.
She couldn't help the tears that left her eyes, "Ken?"
"Hey babe, what's wrong? You sound upset."
"There are men in the house. They have guns and I think they killed Olivia. I'm so scared and I'm worried about Niko. We're hiding in a freezer and he's freezing."
"Tone, slow down. You said there's men in the house with-"
"They're coming." She interrupted hearing the cellar door burst open.
"Toni do not hang up, okay? I'm coming." Kenny said feeling around for his keys.
"Hurry please." She whispered.
"I'm on my way, okay? Toni?"
She pulled the phone away from her ear as she heard the men near the door. They tried to open it but couldn't. A flashlight shined in the tiny window in the door and landed right in front of Toni and Niko.
She scooted closer to the door trying to stay out of view.
"I don't see anything." One of them said.
"Well they couldn't have gotten far her leg is fucked up and Sabrina said the kid is too sick to get out of bed." Another one said.
"Let's check outside again, they could be hiding anywhere."
They left and Toni put the phone back to her ear.
"Toni!" Kenny has yelled for the 10th time. He was now outside and guests who were coming and going stared at him.
"I'm here." She said.
"Thank God. I'm trying to get there as fast as I can. Okay? I-"
Before he could finish, the phone went out.
"Ken? Ken?" She called out. Looking at the dead phone, she threw it, "Shit!"
She kissed Niko's forehead holding him close.

"Have you seen Kenny?" Sabrina asked one of their friends as she walked around the party.
"Yeah, he went outside." One said.
"Thanks." She replied heading out. She looked around before being snatched up. "AAH!" She screamed as Kenny grabbed her throat and pushed her against the wall.
"What did you do?" He asked her as calmly as he could.
"I don't know what you're talking ab- Ah!"
He squeezed harder, "Tell me the truth!" He said watching her struggle to breathe. He shook his head, "It was you all along. I should've known. Oh my God and Jennifer? Sidney?"
"They had it coming!"
"I'll deal with you later." He said snatching her purse and taking the car keys out before tossing it on the ground in front of her.
"Where are you going?!" She asked him. He ignored her as he got into the car. "Kenny!" She yelled watching him speed away. She picked up her phone and dialed the guys, "Get out of there now!"

Niko woke up, "Toni?"
"Hey. Are you okay?" She asked.
"I'm cold."
"I know, me too. Your daddy is on his way and we'll get out of here soon. Maybe we'll get hot chocolate to warm us up, huh?" She asked staring at his slips what were starting to change color a bit.
"Yeah." Niko said before they heard sirens.
She sighed in relief, "Looks like we'll be getting it sooner than we think."
"Toni?!" They heard.
Quickly getting up, "Ken? In here!" She yelled removing the metal bar from the door and pushing it open.
"Oh my goodness, I'm so glad you're okay." He said in relief as she and Niko ran into his arms enjoying his warmth, "God, you're freezing, take my jacket." He said handing it to Toni as he picked Niko up hugging him as tight as he could.
They walked out of the house and a paramedic came up to them.
"Are you two okay?" She asked. Toni nodded as the paramedic looked at Niko, "His ears are discoloring, I should check him out."
Kenny put him down and she took him towards the ambulance.
"Dad!" Niko said in a panic.
"I'm right here Niko." Kenny told him.
Toni turned around seeing Olivia being rolled out on a stretcher, "Olivia."
"Yeah, she was still hanging on. They think she'll be okay." Kenny said.
"Where are the men?" Toni asked.
"They must've took off. Sabrina probably warned them."
Toni remembered something and started to cry. Kenny hugged her, "It's okay." He said. Sabrina would get what's coming to her.
"Kenny there's something you need to know." She said.
"What?"
"Your mother. I don't know how to say this but she's...dead." She told him. He stared at her making sure he heard her right. She sighed,"I'm so sorry. I didn't say anything to Niko, I figured it would be better if you told him."
He nodded walking away. She watched him as he rubbed his before going over to Niko. A few words were spoken and they were both crying in each other's arms.
"Niko!" Toni heard from behind her. It was Sabrina pretending to be all concerned.
"Hey!" Toni said getting her attention. Sabrina faced her instantly getting slapped across the face, "Going after me? I get it. Brenda? Maybe. But Niko has done nothing but try to love you after you constantly treated him horribly. You're a real piece of shit Sabrina." Toni told her.
Sabrina glared as she held her cheek, "You can't prove anything."
"I don't have to."
A cop came up putting Sabrina in handcuffs, "Sabrina Lakes, you're under arrest for murder, attempted murder, and child neglect..."
"You can't do this to me!" She yelled trying to shake herself free, "KENNY! Help me!" She yelled getting ignored yet again.
