Lily's POV

"First it was buying this house, meeting the Queen, then bringing Jenny Lind, then the whole thing with the group. When will it ever be enough for you?" I asked Phineas as I sat on his bed while he packed. "I'm doing this for you and Penny." He said and looked at me. "Look around you. We have everything." I said with a soft smile and gestured to him. "You don't understand." He said as I shook my head. "I do understand." I said and looked at my hands. "No, you don't understand!" He raised his voice and looked at me as I was a bit surprised.

"My father was treated like dirt. I was treated like dirt. And you guys will not be." He said as I looked at him. "You don't need everyone to love you, Phin. Just a few good people." I said as he sat down. "I know that." He said softly as I looked at him. "Have you've seen me?" I asked him and stood up, walking in front of him. "Yes, I have and you are very gorgeous and kind and sweet. You and Penny deserve everything." He said as he gently grabbed my hands and kissed my knuckles. "I won't be gone long. I'll be back before you know it." He said and pulled me close, hugging my side as I petted his hair.

Penny and I were outside, watching Phineas walk down to his carriage where Jenny was waiting. I gently petted Penny's hair as we sadly watched Phineas get into the carriage. "Phinny!" Penny called out as she started chasing the carriage.

I was watching Penny finish her ballet show then stood up and clapped happily with a bright smile. She looked at me then looked over to the empty seat. I looked to it as I see in her eyes she wanted Phineas to be here.

I was playing with Penny and started tossing grapes at her as she giggled. She grabbed her cup and held it up, catching as many as she could.

It's been a almost a year now and Phineas still wasn't home. I gently tucked Penny in for the night and kissed her forehead.

I started dancing in the hallways, thinking I was dancing with Phineas. Something I wish to do.

I spun then stopped and looked to see he wasn't really here. I gently pushed the curtain to its place and sadly looked out of the window before heading off to bed myself.

Phineas's POV

"'It is as though we have learned for the first time what singing really is. Miss Lind deserves our nation's highest esteem and most lavish ovations.'" Jenny read aloud Mr. Benum's review out loud. I sat on the couch as she sat beside me. It has already been a year and I am on a roll, but I miss Lily and Penny. My special girls. I wonder how they're doing. "The world at our feet." Jenny said as I was in a bit of a day dream with all that has happened.

"Well, Mr. Barnum. This...is...," she trailed off and poured two glasses of champagne while laughing, causing me chuckle a little bit, "To making dreams come true." She said and sat in front of me as she handed me my glass. "Thank you, Jenny." I said as she was a bit too close. I look at her and see imagined Lily looking at me. I see her look down to my lips. It went quiet as she looked down at my lips again as I take she wants a kiss, but I can't. "It's two hour till curtain." I whispered softly.

"I've given you the world, haven't I?" She asked as she started looking at me with a pleading look for me to kiss her, but I won't. I realize how I love Lily and Penny and even the group. "I, uh, I should go. Um, I've become a distraction. I'm sorry, Jenny." I said as it was quite clear that she was falling for me when I love another woman. "No!" She said as she probably didn't want me to go since she is growing feelings. "You should finish the tour without me." I said and sat my glass down.

"What? You're leaving?" She asked as I looked at her. "Well, the itinerary is well at hand." I said as she looked at me. "So that's it?" She asked as I became slightly confused. "What do you mean?" I asked and raised an eyebrow. "I'm just another one of your little acts." She whispered and stood up. "Jenny." I said as she sat her glass down. "I'm done." She said and started walking out. "Jenny. Jenny, please." I said as she stopped and faced me. I stood up and started walking over to her.

"You have to finish the tour." I said, stopping in front of her. "Must I?" She asked, looking up at me."It'll ruin me." I said as let out a scoff. "When you're careless with other people, Mr. Barnum, you bring it upon your ownself." She said as she was upset. "I risked...everything." I said, meaning Lily, Penny, and the circus. "So have I. It seems we've both lost." She said and started walking away, leaving me with my thoughts.

I stood backstage as Jenny sung 'Never Be Enough' with a few voice cracks since she was trying to hold in tears. I felt horrible for hurting her, but I can't be with someone I don't love. The crowd started clapping as photos were being taken. I clapped as she bowed then held her hand out for me. I walked out and gently grabbed her hand as more photos were taken.

We bowed before I turned to her. "Thank you." I said softly then was caught by surprised as she pressed her lips to mine and her hand against my torso while a photo was taken."What was that?" I asked, quickly pulling away, hoping that I was quick enough that no one got a photo. "That was goodbye." She said as she walked off stage.
