CHAPTER THIRTEEN,
no one is safe.
Aiden sat in the kitchen with a jar of pickles sitting on the counter and a bottle of water. In one hand was one of Carl's comics and the other hand was a pickle.
She looked up when she heard the door open and saw Rick walk in, "Dad!" Carl rushed to him and hugged him.
"Hey." Rick said softly.
"You okay?" Carl asked him.
"Yeah. Look, I'm sorry." Rick said to his son.
"I heard about the meeting." Carl spoke.
"You're staying home." Rick said. Aiden's eyes moved from Rick to Carl.
"That's what it is now, right? Home?" Carl asked him.
Rick looked back at his son, "yeah."
"They need us. They'll die without us." Carl said.
"I might have to threaten one of them."
"I might have to kill some of 'em." Aiden said. Rick looked at her.
"I might have to kill one of them." Rick said.
"You two won't." Carl said to the two.
"We might."
"You have to tell them."
"I told them last night." Rick replied.
"You have to tell them so they can hear you." Carl said and Aiden furrowed her eyebrows. He was right.
"I don't know if they can." Rick nearly whispered to Carl. "Does that makes you afraid?"
"Just for them. You have to tell them." Carl said and Rick nodded.

Later that day, Xavier and Carl sat with Aiden on the porch of the house. The three all held cards and in front of them was a game of Go Fish.
Aiden smirked, "Carl, do you have a six?" She asked smugly.
Carl looked at his hand then at Aiden. "Shit, here." He handed her the six of hearts. She smiled and placed the two sixes down.
"Xav, you got a four?" She asked.
He smirked, "go fish."
She groaned and drew a card. The game went on the for around five minutes before Xavier won. Payton walked up to the house and saw Aiden and Carl whining like little children and his nineteen year old brother grinning from ear-to-ear.
"What happened here?" He asked the three, looking down at the card game.
"I kicked their asses at Go Fish!" Xavier exclaimed. Payton laughed at his brothers excitement.
