CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE,
last day one earth.

Aiden could feel it. She was gonna have this baby soon, very soon.

Daryl grabbed Aiden's face as he kissed her gently. "I'm gone go out." He said to her.

She sighed and placed her forehead against his, "please, don't get yourself hurt."

"I won't. I love you." He said before kissing her again.

"I love you." She replied. The man left the house and she heard his bike revving up before he left.

She was informed by Abraham that Michonne, Glenn, Xavier, and Rosita went after him to stop his reckless ass from getting killed.

She had also been informed Morgan and Rick went after Carol who left the previous night

With everyone being gone, Aiden was in charge.

Rick returned without Carol or Morgan. He said that Morgan sent him back and he would continue to look for Carol.

A group was leaving to get Maggie to the Hilltop. Something was wrong with her and possibly the baby. The group consisted of Rick, Abraham, Sasha, Aaron, Payton, Nathaniel, Aiden, Macy, Eugene, Carl, and of course, Maggie.

Aiden sat on the couch in the RV as Abraham drove. She was anxious. She knew she was going to have to stay at the Hilltop because she wasn't far from being a mama. Which meant Daryl was going to miss Elliot being born.

She couldn't help but think about Lori.

The woman who was her older sister. The woman who took care of her when she and Shane both got the flu at the same time. The woman she had to help deliver her baby.

The woman she killed.

Carl came and sat beside Aiden. The two hadn't spoke much lately. "Hey, bud." She mumbled.

"Hey." He replied. "Daryl told me about the name."

"Elliot Glenn Dixon." Aiden smiled softly. "Looks like you got to name him after all."

Carl nodded and smiled fondly at Aiden, "yeah."

"What the bitch?" They heard Abraham.

"What?" Rick asked as he moved up front.

"Enemy close." Abraham replied. "We doing this?"

"No." Rick replied. The group excluding Maggie and Aiden got out. Aiden stood at the door of the RV, watching the Saviors closely.

"He's someone who was with a whole lot of someones who didn't listen." The man said.

"We can make a deal, right here, right now."
Rick said to him.

"That's right, we can. Give us all your stuff. We'll probably have to kill one of you. That's just the way it is, but then we can start moving forward on business. All you have to do is listen." The man up front said.
