CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX,
oh, shit.

Jesus hid the trio in the closet in Gregory's room. Jesus assumed Gregory would try to pull some fast shit.

Aiden's hand found her machete as she waited for one of the men to open the door. "Didn't you hide that in the RV?" Maggie asked her quietly.

"Yeah, I grabbed it before we all left the clearing." Aiden replied even quieter. The three went silent when they heard the amount of men outside the closet. Aiden gripped the machete even tighter and pulled out out of its sheath.

After several minutes Jesus opened the door. Only seconds after he opened the door Gregory stormed into the room and slammed the door behind him. Anger was written all over his face, "I told you to hid them in the hallway closet!"

"No, you said 'closet'."

"This is my bedroom. What if they came in here before I-" Gregory was cut off.

"Before you tried to give us up?" Sasha said quickly.

"They would've killed you first." Maggie said.

"I should knock your teeth in." Aiden growled.

"Honey, I'm talking to Jesus." He held his hand up to Aiden and Maggie causing her to look at him like he had two heads, "now I really should."

"Stop." Jesus said to Gregory.

"Why are you even defending her? We're here right now because Martha and- and Rich didn't handle things like they said they would." Gregory said.

"The Saviors tried to kill you." Jesus reminded the half out of his mind man.

"That was a misunderstanding. And as soon as the Saviors leave, we get them the hell out of here before something bad really happens."

"Stop! They're staying. Or do you want to make it public? You want to make the deal with Alexandria public? Lose your plausible deniability? Lose your position?" Jesus questioned him and Aiden smirked at how confident the man sounded.

"So you're gonna be in charge now?"

"No. It's just that you won't be. Maggie, Aiden, and Sasha are staying. I'm staying. We're all gonna be one big happy, dysfunctional family." Jesus stated.

"So we will be. And I will see us thought this. I made process with them today. You saw it."

"That's not what I saw."

"Yeah? That's what happened." Gregory said lowly before walking towards the three women, "we play nice, they play nice. See, dear? Saviors can be quite reasonable." Maggie landed a blow across Gregory's face causing Aiden to gap at her. Maggie reached in Gregory's pocket and pulled out Hershel's watch. "It's a fine watch. Doesn't need to be left out in the rain."

"This is our home now, maybe not Aiden's. So you'll learn to call me by my name. Not Marsha, not dear, not honey. Maggie. Maggie Rhee." She said with so much confidence.

"When I got here, Gregory was already in charge. Thought the people chose him for a reason. Looking at it now, I think it just happened. I didn't like how he did things. But I couldn't imagine anyone else in his place. I can now."
