CHAPTER FOURTEEN,
the names.
Aiden was angry. Obviously, she was angry.
Rick and Morgan had found a quarry filled with hundreds of walkers when they went to bury Pete outside of the walls. Aiden wasn't allowed to help with it at all. Her baby bump was larger, only a bit though. She knew she had to be at least six months along by this point.
Aiden was worried sick when none of them returned after leaving to the quarry for a dry run, to go over the plan one last time before the following day.
A group of people who had been on a run had returned, Heath was one of the three. Scott and Annie were the other two.
Pete was buried outside of the walls. According to Rick and Deanna they were not going to bury killers inside of the walls of Alexandria. That's how Morgan and Rick found the quarry.
"I don't think it's fair." Aiden said to Daryl.
"What's not fair?" He asked her.
"The fact y'all won't let me out there to help." She shrugged.
Daryl scoffed and looked at her, "you're pregnant, Aiden. It's not just you we're looking after anymore. It's the baby, too."
"I'm the one carrying the child. I know how to take care of myself. I know my limits, y'all don't." Aiden argued.
"When will you stop being so fuckin' stupid!?" Daryl nearly shouted at her. She was taken aback by his sudden yell. "You're carryin' a kid! Our kid, Aiden! Stop being so goddamn reckless for once and think about our kid!"
Aiden's nose flared angrily, "I know my own limits."
Aiden sat at the counter with a notebook laid in front of her. In the notebook were two lists of names. One titled 'Boys' and the other titled 'Girls'. The girls list consisted of a few names, Phoebe, Rishae, Lori, Beth, Hazel, Rosalina, Jasmine. And the boys consisted of Merle, Elliot, Jasper, Haden, Tyreese, Noah, and Shane.
"My team saw it early on, back when we were on one of those first scouts, finding out what was around here. There was a camp at the bottom. The people, they must have blocked the exits with one of those trucks back when everything started to go bad. They didn't make it. They were all roamers. Maybe a dozen of 'em." Heath informed everyone in Deanna's home.
"No one's been back since?" Maggie asked from her spot between Glenn and Sasha.
Heath shook is head, "DC, every town worth scavenging are all in the other direction. And I never really felt like having a picnic next to the camp that ate itself."
"So all the while the walkers have been drawn by the sound and they're making more noise and they're drawing more in." Michonne concluded.
"And here we are. Now what I'm proposing, I know it sounds risky, but walkers are already slipping through the exits. One of the trucks keeping the walkers in could go off the edge any day now. Maybe after one more hard rain. That exit sends them east. All of them. Right at us." Rick said to them all, "this isn't about if it gives, it's when. It's gonna happen. That's why we have to do it soon."
