A few weeks had flown by since the latest akumatization incident with Coeurcass. It was growing colder outside because of the sun coming out less and less. Summer was turning into autumn very quickly, and the citizens of Paris would only have a small amount of time left before the temperature would drop so low that you wouldn't be able to go outside without a jacket on. Albeit, this summer still had some particularly cold days, but the rest of them were flaring hot. Currently, the students of Françoise Dupont High School were in the midst of one of those rare days and were desperately trying to survive the day. The sun just started to shine and classes had just begun. Adrien shut his locker after putting his unnecessary materials away and exited the locker room. He strolled through the halls towards his first class with Ms. Bustier for his English lesson. He didn't have any strong opinions towards the subject, but he would be giving it his all anyways. As he did for every single day he was given permission to go to school. He was almost to the classroom when he started to think that something was missing...

"Take off your jacket, Adrien! I'm going to die from heat in here."

And he found it. Plagg hadn't said anything yet.

"It's only the morning, so it still hasn't gotten very hot yet. When it's the afternoon, I'll take it off. How are you dying so fast?" He snickered a bit, but not enough so that it was visible to others. Plagg groaned. Adrien opened the door to the classroom and saw that most people were already there. Since Luka is here temporarily, he usually sat in the back of the class where the seats were empty. Everybody else was sitting in their normal seats. There was scattered chatter coming from everyone as they all waited for class to start. Adrien was greeted by Nino when the door behind him clicked shut.

"Hey dude! How are you doin'?" he asked lively as always.

"I'm doing fine. How about you?" Adrien responded in a friendly manner as he made his way towards his shared desk with him and sat down to continue the conversation.

"I'm doing fine, too. Just worried about the heat that's going to come later today. It's probs going to be so hot."

Adrien only had time to nod his head before Ms. Bustier calmly entered the classroom with papers stacked in her hands.

"Alright class, settle down. I have some big news to tell you all."

The students did as she said. All of the jumbled voices hushed in sound until it completely disappeared. "Our class was very lucky, and the principal has decided that this class should be the one to have the special overnight geography field trip, where we will all go to the beach near the northern outskirts of France to study sea life around the area. I will be handing out the permission forms shortly." Sounds of excitement and surprise ripple throughout the room. From a quick scan around the classroom, mountains of energy were present on their faces and you could see a couple of people's eyes sparkle with interest. Adrien felt happy as well, but this emotion was overcome by anxiety. He wanted to go and have fun exploring the beach with his friends, but his father might not let that happen...

"I also need to mention that after this trip Luka will be returning to his school for his classes as the school's renovations are complete," she added on to her earlier statement. Everybody's attention diverted towards Luka, who in the corner of the classroom just smiled shyly because of how many people's gazes were set on him. It was disappointing to see Luka leave, but he was going to have to return to his school in one way or another. The positive atmosphere dwindled a bit, but mostly remained as everybody started to talk about the upcoming event while Ms. Bustier started to hand out the sheets. He tried not to think about his father and the field trip, but at this point it was like ignoring a spotlight shining on the actor in complete darkness on a stage. Will his father allow him to spend time with his friends? Or will he once again keep him away from them? What will he-

"Hey Adrien, are you ok? You've been spacing out for a while." Nino questioned him. Adrien was taken out of his trance, but still hovered in his thoughts, so he answered reluctantly.

"Y-Yeah, don't worry."

Hands hitting each other once again blared through the classroom.

"I understand you're all excited, but we're not going yet. We still have to do the school lessons for today. With that being said, let's begin." The students reached into their bags to grab the things they needed for the English lesson and she began. Adrien tried once again to set the topic aside in his mind. This time he managed to do it successfully, but he was left with a lingering statement in his mind. I hope that father and I can come to an agreement this time.
