Adrien's lime eyes darted around the massive entrance hall of his house before eventually making his way to the door that led to his father's usual workplace. Before he could continue further, he was stopped by his bodyguard when he extended his hand in front of him.

"Please let me through. I need to talk to my father about something." The hand didn't move, but instead the gorilla gave an expression that clearly expressed doubt on whether or not he really should be passed through. "Please."

That seemed to be the final straw, as the bodyguard sighed a lengthy sigh before finally giving in and releasing his arm from the position. Adrien beamed slightly and whispered a thank you before heading down the long stairs and arriving at his destination. He gazed up and down the enormous door fearing for what was going to happen next, but he just took a small breath and carefully knocked on the door. There was silence for a few moments before he heard a voice allowing him to come in. He entered inside the room and saw that in front of the painting of his mother was his father, serious as ever, doing something on the device in front of him. He shuffled until his body was completely in front of the door he came through and immediately blanked out. "U-Um... Father."

He nervously tried his best to structure his words. Sweating a bit, he anxiously waited for some form of response so that he could validate that he was heard and could continue.

"What is it, Adrien? I'm busy right now." He always spoke with a stern voice, no matter who he talked to.

"Well, um, there's a... field trip that my class is taking and I-I was wondering if I could go..." He used every ounce of strength and bravery in his body to say those words. He'd always imagined that this sort of thing would be easier for other kids who were closer to their guardians, but for him, this is how it was going to be until something changes that. There was silence for a few minutes, but those were some of the longest minutes of Adrien's life. It felt as if time had stopped moving and he was waiting for nothing. When there was finally some sound coming from the other side of the room, Adrien's dull face perked up a bit to see what he had to say.

"How long will it be?"

"Two days."

"Where will you be going?"

"Up north of Paris."

Then there was more silence, until he finally gave an answer.

"...Fine. However, your bodyguard and Nathalie will be coming along to make sure that you are safe during the entirety of the trip. Is that all you came for?"

Adrien's face immediately shone. It was like a miracle.

"Yes and thank you, father!" He grinned widely, and beamed brighter than the sun. His father would usually never let him attend an unscheduled event such as this one, let alone leave Paris. This was truly a phenomenon. Adrien quickly closed the door to his office and silently exited before speed-walking as fast as he could to his room to start packing for the trip. Would he need sunscreen? Would he really be allowed to stay overnight? It was so exciting to think about. This was going to be awesome.
