january 25th, friday.
day 1

y/n placed her bag down to the couch as she looked around in my flat. "wow," she chuckled. "i feel like i haven't been here for a long time. you sure did spruce all of this up."

"oh, those were christmas decors. i set them up like, 3 months ago." i turned the christmas lights on, making the tree sparkle across the room. "might take them down next week- well, i was about to fix this all up but i ended up procrastinating." i shrugged. she continued to look around until she went towards the easel.

"whoa, you painted this?" she gestured on the cat painting.

"yeah, still not done with it though." i fanned the painting and blew it a little. "it's still a bit wet. it's for the album art."

"robin daniel skinner, why and how are you this talented?" y/n gawked at me. "like seriously, is there anything you can't do?"

"err... probably hitting a high note properly." i shrugged. "my voice would crack whenever i try to sing that—that high..."

after an hour, y/n and i took a few sound checks then started practicing the song first. i turned my metronome on from my phone then threw it on my bed.

"okay, you know your parts?"

"yip yip," y/n took a deep breath. "just do give a sign if it's my turn or– you know, those stuff. i'll be ready whenever you're ready."

"alrighty then," i formed the chord c on my guitar then strummed to the metronome's pace.

"i was just born like this
wish that i could change it
four peculiar limbs and a head that doesn't fit
i wish that i was still a kid~"

i nodded my head slowly, signalling y/n to start singing.

"i was just born like this
doctors knew before i did
there's another snail if i'm with me in attention it's fair to say i don't like it~"

"damn, i never realised how deep that was..." y/n sighed heavily with a hand on her chest. "that just hit me like a bus."

"you didn't know what i was singing when i performed this?"

"i rarely pay attention to lyrics in some songs so... yeah." she shook her head. "plus, it was a little noisy so i couldn't hear it that much."

"would you be surprised if i tell you this was about the thing we talked about at the cemetery?" i asked y/n which gave me a questionable look.
