"y/n, where are you?"

"i'm here, mum." i waved from the other aisle as a response to my mum. my family and i had to go christmas shopping so we could wrap up gifts early before our family reunions start.

"oh, thank god. i thought i lost you or something..." she took a deep breath as she placed her hand on her chest.

"mum, i'm nineteen. i know how to take care of myself, i'm not a kid anymore." i chuckled.

"then why are you in the kids' section?" she questioned.

"she's looking for a bear so she could give it to her boyfriend." my brother mocked, making me shush him.

"now, now, stop teasing your sister or i'll get your phone, i tell you." mom warned as she got to another aisle.

i walked around the corner that was filled with cuddly stuff toys, browsing on what i should give to robbie.

"i think most of these stuff toys are for babies," i thought out loud as i fidgeted some of them.

"which... is a good thing, right?" my brother walked towards me. "like, besides, he is your baby."

"he is not my baby, he is a friend of mine and i love him a lot so just— please let me be." i looked to the other side of the aisle then noticed a turtle plushie from the other row. "well, this looks cute i guess..."

"want me to help you out?"

"if you stop teasing me about robin, maybe sure." i put the turtle back to where it came from then continued looking for another one. there were a lot of adorable stuff toys, i couldn't even choose what to buy.

there were bunnies, teddy bears, deers, cats, etc. it's like i wanted to buy one for myself as well but i only had enough money for robin's gift.

"what about this one?" my brother showed a frog plushie which i thought was adorable.

"you are a lifesaver, i swear to god." i held the frog plushie as the both of us went back to where mum was.

"you're buying a frog?" mum questioned. "for robbie? really?"

"so what? he likes these kinds of stuff." i shrugged then placed it on the shopping cart. "besides, it's for his birthday and christmas gift."

"wait, robbie's birthday is on december?" my brother questioned.

"do you have your own money?"

"yessiree!" i patted my jacket's pocket which i had stashed a few bucks in it.

"well, it's your money..." my mum sighed. "anyways, do you need snacks for your show with robbie?"

"i'm fine with oreos," i took an oreo package from the top shelf. "i'll just have water too. i won't be staying there for a long time."

"are you sure?" she placed her hand on my cheek. "i'm going to miss you again... promise me you'll update me after your shows, okay?"

"you can count on me."

the next morning, i woke up from the buzzing sound of my phone. since i still felt a little sleepy, i snoozed the alarm then gave myself a few more minutes of sleep.

abruptly, my brother barged into my room then started pushing me off the bed. "wake up!" he shouted which made me cover my face with a pillow.
