[fool - cavetown]

"the arcade? this is the last spot?" i asked him.

"what's the problem?" he questioned.

"don't they like, open at one in the afternoon or something?"

"it is one in the afternoon..." he replied. i took my phone from my pocket, then checked the time.

"oh, you're right. it is." i responded. "that was quick." both of us went inside the arcade.

the arcade had flashy red and green lights everywhere, loud music pounding at the very back of the place, machines filled with stuffed toys and plushies, and a tv screen.

"my friends and i sometimes go here, we'd play guitar hero, super mario, and those basketball machines." he pointed on the three basketball machines on our side.

"wow, i wish i'd experience being with a group of friends." i sighed.

"but, you are friends with my friends too, right? and with deishauna and-"

"no, no. i mean, like, always hanging out with a group of friends." i cut him. "yes, i know your friends simi, tom, tom, and mia are my friends too but, i don't usually hang out with them that much. but, yes, we do get along. i don't really know if you get my point."

"i see your point.." he replied. "but hey, christmas is coming up and maybe possibly they'd visit us. we could hang out with them."

"i guess, sure.." i shrugged. robin and i went to the glowing counter that was filled with food, prizes, and other stuff.

"let me guess, both of you are gonna buy arcade coins so you can play?" the guy spoke before robin.

"uh, yeah." robin replied.

"see? i'm a mind reader." the guy joked. he took two sets of coins stacked together that was taped from the other counter then gave it to us.

while robin paid for it, the guy glanced at me for a moment then suddenly gasped. "you look familiar!" he exclaimed.

"huh? who's familar?" i questioned, i was a little confused.

"you!" the guy pointed at me. "you're y/n from kia and deishauna's school?"

"oh, yeah.. i am." i stuttered. "how do you know me?"

"oh, i'm their classmate. my name's benz, by the way." he introduced himself. "to be honest, you're a little popular in the year tens. they usually talk about you."

"why's that?" i asked him.

"i dunno, really." he replied. "the others talked about what happened to you from amy's party-"

"oh god, that incident again..." i rolled my eyes.

"don't worry, the others secretly like you because they think you're cool. they were just too shy to say hello to you." he explained.

"whoa, really?" i questioned.

"yep," benz replied. "anyways, you guys can play now using the coins. have fun!" he exclaimed.

both robin and i walked out of the counter, then started thinking of what game we should try first.

"so, what are we gonna do first?" he asked me.

"uh, honestly, i don't really know." i laughed. "i'll try looking around first."

i strolled around the arcade room then found a little bowling machine.
