Chapter Nine, Pandora Pandorica
___________________________

I sat on the metal stairs that led to the doors of the TARDIS, Amy in that strange working sling underneath the panel, and the Doctor doing whatever the Doctor does. In my hands was a book about stars and the modern names of them. It was rather intriguing to read when you knew what they were originally called.

"Vavoom!" The Doctor exclaimed as he bent down in an attempt to startle Amy, succeeding with scaring me in the process.

"Va-what?" Amy questioned before standing up and approaching the upper floor of the TARDIS main room.

"I can't believe I've never thought of this before! It's genius!" The Doctor ran around the controls, pulling switches and leaving us confused.

"Thought of what, exactly?" I asked and put the book down next to me.

"Where are we?"

"Planet one, the oldest planet in the universe. Where there's a cliff of pure diamond and according to legend, on the cliff there's writing. Letters fifty feet  high, a message from the dawn of time. And no one knows what it says because nobody's ever translated it.. until now."

"What happens today?"

"Us!" He poked the top of her nose before turning to me, gently patting my cheek. "The TARDIS can translate anything. All we have to do is open the doors and read the first words in recorded history."

The three of us left the TARDIS in excitement, my eyes sliding over the beautiful scenery of large mushrooms and extravagant trees.

"Hello Sweetie." The tone in his voice and the recognising laughter of Amy made it painfully obvious that it was directed towards the Doctor. Sweetie. I couldn't help but feel jealous, even if I shouldn't be. I was most likely nothing but a travelling partner to him, let alone in the position to be jealous of others who knew him. But as we entered the TARDIS again I couldn't help but keep my eyes away from his, something that didn't go by unnoticed.

"Right place?" Amy questioned as we left the police box once again, the Doctor leading us to wherever we were headed.

"Just following the directions on the cliff. Earth, Britain, quarter past 2am. No, pm." We were met by the sight of Romans, something I never thought I would get to witness with my own eyes. "No.. AD."

"Heil Caesar!" A man dressed in full armour approached us, panting as he kneeled down. He seemed to believe that the Doctor, was Caesar.

"Hello?"

"Welcome to Britain. We are honoured by your presence." The soldier seemed to have expected our arrival, being uttermost humble at the sight.

"Well, you're only human. Arise roman peasant." The Doctor raised his hand, making a mockery out of the scene. Me and Amy couldn't help but giggle at the sight of him standing up at the order.

"Why does he think you're Caesar?" I questioned quietly, having the Doctor smirk at me. That knowing and smug smirk was going to be the death of me. I either had just enough of it, or I craved more. When he stood up for us to see him, he had clear lipstick stains around his mouth. Something told me this all had to do with the engraved words in the cliff.
