Chapter Sixteen; lost, again.
_____________________They were currently, rather rudely, interrogating a female soldier who had come to warn us. But they refused to listen at first. I stood by the crib, apple in hand that I took quiet bites of. The juicy and fresh taste of the green fruit filled my senses with bliss. God I had missed food.
"But I heard her talking, this is a trap." The woman begged them with teared up eyes. It was truly fascinating how a someone of the other side would come to warn us. "Why would I lie to you?"
"Well, you might want to take a look at the uniform you're wearing."
"The only reason I joined this forsaken movement was so that I could meet the Doctor again." She seemed so.. sincere.
"You wanted to meet him, so you joined an army, to fight him?" Jenny stepped into the conversation.
"Well, how else do you meet a great warrior?"
I took one last bite of the apple before I threw it to the side, wiping the juice off on my black shirt before approaching the people discussing.
"I say we listen to her." Everyone's eyes snapped to me, and I simply shrugged under the pressure. "If she truly intended harm she wouldn't be crying. Besides, wouldn't she be able to have her people attack us by now?"
"I.." the girl breathed out.
"All of us know what it's like to wait for the Doctor, one way or another. Most of you, including me, would've done the same thing."
We were cut off by the electricity acting up, lights flashing and large noises sounding. I heard the girl say it was starting, and swallowed down my pride of the moment. So she had been speaking the truth. If we had listened, we could've been out of here by now. But I also don't blame them for questioning her, especially Amy and Rory. Their child's life was at stake.
"Confirmed. No other life forms present on this ship except us and the Silurians."
"The headless monks aren't alive." She protested. Which, did make sense, seeing as they had no heads. "They don't register as life forms."
"So that means they could be out there, taking us out one by one, and we can't scan where they are." I was beginning to panic at this point. "We need to get back into the TARDIS."
Amy picked up her baby, Rory had his sword ready, and just as we were about to move towards the big blue box, some sort of forcefield seemed to trap it.
"What's that?"
Vastra tried to touch it but was zapped back by the prison like state of the TARDIS. "Forcefield." And then we heard it. The monks were moving around us, the bodies of dead Silurians banging against the floor. My hand instantly went up to my collarbone, pinching it in an attempt to calm myself down. It didn't work. At all. Large bangs were heard echoing through the air, which was explained to be the doors locking.
"Apparently we're not leaving."
A headache came over me, making me wince and fall down. Jenny instantly rushed to my side to tend for me.
"No no no.. not now.." I whispered, clutching my head. I could feel it. The final stage of the rebirth, awakening if you may. In the worst possible situation, it had cursed me to be as weak as I possibly could.
