"Y/N, are you okay?"

You flinched slightly as somebody whispered your name in the dark. You tilted your head to the side to see Bucky watching you, concerned.

As if on cue, thunder boomed outside and the rain intensified, causing you to jump. You quickly shook your head in answer to Bucky's question, hoping that there was enough light in the tiny room for him to see the small movement.

You were currently on a mission with Bucky, Steve, Nat and Sam. Safety precautions meant that the five of you would be spending the next few nights at a safe house – a small, dingy cabin in the middle of a forest, with only a few pillows and blankets for comfort. To make matters worse, a huge storm was taking place outside.

"Hey, it's okay." Bucky's voice calmed you down somewhat. He had to speak quietly – he didn't want to wake anyone up.

"I hate thunderstorms. And I'm cold, and I want to go home." As soon as the words left your mouth, you cursed yourself for sounding somewhat like a child.

However, Bucky didn't seem to mind. He shuffled towards you and, a few seconds later, you felt an extra blanket being draped over you.

"Better?"

You let a small smile creep onto your face as you replied. "A little."

Bucky chuckled quietly and smoothly wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into his chest. You sighed contentedly – and thanked your lucky stars that it was dark because you were blushing uncontrollably.

"How about now?" Bucky asked, before placing a gentle kiss on the top of your head.

"Suddenly this storm isn't so bad."

You could feel your eyelids beginning to droop already. Despite his metal arm being cool to the touch, Bucky radiated warmth. You felt safe with him and, before you knew it, you were finally falling asleep.

"Sweet dreams, doll."
