Just like Em had promised, she let Felix ask questions after every match. She won all of them of course, but as much as he was upset to lose, he was glad that she was more talkative and open. Yet now was not a time that they could be talkative and open, mainly because they were across the battlefield from each other.
Felix was taking care of a beast with Dimitri and Annette while Em was chasing down Kronya. She followed the enemy leader until Kronya stumbled and crashed into a large rectangular stoned platform. She got up as fast as she could and was back on the defensive, no longer running.
"You can't defeat me!" Kronya spat. Em's grip on her sword tightened but she did not respond. Thats when an old mage with white retreated hairline and a curved spine. "Finally, Solon, help me kill this bitch!" Kronya snapped, addressing him.
"Not necessary," he responded. He then shoved his hand into her chest cavity and help on inside lifting her up. She screamed and wailed but Em could not hear anymore. Out of shock her hearing was just a sharp ringing in her ear and a purple mist like fog start to cloud her eye sight. Solon dropped Kronya as the purple fog spread all over the large platform areas.
"Help .... me," Kronya begged reaching out for Em one last time before they were swept away into darkness.
Felix saw what happened but he was too late to rescue her. Out of some sort of unknown rage and aching in his chest, he swiftly and carefully charged as Solon. The mage was fast and caught on to Felix's advancements but not fast enough. Felix swung his sword as hard and fast as he could because the mage could dodge the attack and he split the enemy in half. It was the quickest he had ever defeated a leader before but something in him ached and needed a resolution.
He thought that killing Solon that quickly might help him reach it but alas it did not. He glanced at his friends and they were all looking at where Em once stood. A clear sky and quiet wind was all the was left. Nothing to represent the sadness they all felt. Especially what Felix felt. He was the only one who approached the platform and stand where she last stood.
He stood there for a while, and the rest stood and watched. No one talked, no one did anything other than look at where Em was once standing. They all knew she was still alive, but she was stuck in some sort of spell. That's when it happened. A sharp blade pierced the sky from another angle and out came Em. She walked through the tear in the sky she just made and fell to the ground.
Felix rushed to her side but she was practically unconscious. He stroked her hair and without even thinking about it, he smashed his lips into hers.
