Snow flutters and dances in the air, casting the normally ashy grey streets of Small Heath in a blanket of the purest white you think you've ever seen.

You sit on the chair by your bedroom window enveloped in the warmth of a blanket, in a slight daze as you watch the snow gently cover every piece of space it can get into. The first snow of the winter. It won't be long before the unbroken sheet of white is splattered with footprints, the laughter of children filling the streets as they play, the shouts of their parents telling them to be careful. You smile at the thought, the thought of having children on a day like today. Your hand subconsciously moves to your stomach as you think, wishing you yourself could feel the joy of being a parent, the joy that snowy days like today bring.

The bedsheets shuffle behind you, John slowly awakening. "Come back to bed Y/N, it's early" the gravelly sleep filled tone of his voice sends a shiver down your spine, the proposition tempting. You don't move though, "it's snowing outside" you state quietly, wrapping the blanket further around yourself. John chuckles, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

You're almost back in your daydream when gentle, warm hands place themselves on your shoulders, a kiss being placed on your temple. You turn your head to John, a soft smile playing on your lips, "good morning love" his deep voice mumbles, you respond with a kiss, feeling the same sparks you've felt for the past two years. "Sit with me?" Your voice is quiet and the childlike hope in your eyes makes John realise, yet again, why he fell in love with you. He lifts you up bridal-style, sitting down in the chair before placing you down in his lap. You wrap your arms around his neck, resting your head on his bare chest as his own arms wrap around your waist.

"We should take Finn out today to play in the snow" you state, seemingly deep in thought. John looks down at you, completely and utterly in love with how much you care for him and his family, still wondering after all this time how he got so lucky. "Is that what you want to do?" He questions softly, you look up to meet his gaze, for a moment getting lost in his bright eyes, "yeah, it'll be fun" you whisper, bringing your lips to his in a tender kiss.

You walk hand in hand with John, Finn rushing ahead of you as you make your way to the park. The snow crunches beneath your boots, your scarf hiding the lower half of your face as you brave the cold. Your eyes are bright, showing the smile that your scarf hides.

You enter through the ice coated gates of the park, the place a complete winter wonderland, the trees dusted in white, the grass hidden beneath the snow. You breathe in the refreshing cold, your warm cloudy breaths a stark contrast to the nipping air.

Too caught up in the beauty of the day, you don't notice the mischievous grin Finn has on his face as he moulds snow between his hands. The splattering thud of the snowball hitting your shoulder and the wild laughter of both Finn and John bring you back to Earth. "Oi! That's not fair!" You protest, but can't help the laugh that breaks past your lips. "Oops?" Finn mockingly replies as he prepares his next snowball, John also scooping up a handful of snow. "So that's how you want to play? Ganging up on the only girl!" You say as you gather some snow in your own hands.

Before you know it, you're all throwing snowballs at each other, wild laughter breaking through the quiet of the park. You duck behind a tree to miss one of John's snowballs, peeping your head round to launch your own at him. Your snowball hits him square in the face, the snow splattering across his features. "Good shot Y/N!" Finn shouts as he watches the show unfold. John stands ridged, slowly wiping the snow from his face. The silence from him makes you worry, stepping out from your hiding place, you make your way over to John, scared that you may have hurt him.

"Are you okay love?" You feebly ask, he doesn't respond and you can't help but feel bad. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to..." you're cut off by John's body clashing into yours, you both falling back into to the snow. You look up at John in shock as he hovers over your body, a massive grin on his face "got yah!". You slap his chest giggling,  "I hate you so much!" You jokingly scold, he chuckles bringing his lips down to yours in a freezing kiss. You're broken apart by the sound of Finn fake gagging, "get a room!" He yells, making you both burst into fits of laughter.

You lay on the sofa with John, snuggled beneath the opulent warmth of a blanket, a cup of hot chocolate between your hands. John rubs soothing circles along your hips and thighs, in a blissful world of his own. Thoughts of today run through your mind, the undiluted joy and laughter of a day well spent. The thoughts of a child of your own still linger intermittently in your mind, itching to be spoken.

You place your cup down on the coffee table in front of you. Turning to face John you place a kiss to his bare chest. He looks down at you with a soft smile, "are you alright love?" He whispers just loud enough for you to hear, you look up at him, taking in all of his handsome features. Considering whether to say what you are truly thinking, you forget that you haven't answered his question, John gives your hip a light squeeze bringing you back to reality. "If there's something on your mind, you can tell me you know?" This time his voice is tainted with concern. "I'm just thinking about all the fun we had today... I'd like to do that with our own child..." your voice trails off as you turn your gaze back up to John's, his eyes are twinkling in a way you don't think you've ever seen before as he silently stares down at you.

"You want a baby?" Shock laces his words, and for a moment you feel as though you may have made a mistake. "I-I, well, yeah, I love you John, I want to share that..." you stutter, not quite sure of yourself. John leans down and connects his lips with yours, pouring all of his love into the kiss as you return the passion. When you pull apart it's as if he's glowing, the smile on his perfect lips enough to destroy all of the darkness in the world. "I love you so much Y/N, you don't realise how happy you've made me, today and all days" his words are full of truth, you can't help but return his smile, cuddling closer into him.

"We better get practicing..." John's smile turns into a sly grin, making you laugh at the man you are completely besotted with.
