The Shelby brothers have always been a mystery to you, an enigma that you can't help but want to crack. Their cruel and dangerous ways making for an enticing story that you desire to read. One Shelby in particular has always had you wanting to know more, to see more. Thomas Shelby.

From the moment you met him, and every encounter thereafter, you've found yourself spellbound by him. It's like he's cast some kind of spell on you, and now you're powerless to his will.

It was through your older brother Jack that you had first become acquainted with the Shelby family, him being a part of their dealings was bound to get you wound up in their complex web, and that's exactly what happened...

You walk into the small home, the loud clattering of people filling your ears as the scent of cigarette smoke invades your nostrils. You follow your brother up the stairs, him knowing exactly where he's heading. The annoyance of you insisting on joining him on his trip to see the Shelby's still evident in his body language.

You've heard a great number of tales about the Shelby brothers; their wild ways, the cruelty and influence that they wield upon the entirety of Birmingham. You've often seen them stalking the pavements of Small Heath, afraid of nothing and nobody. Today your curiosity has finally gotten the better of you, forcing your brother to bring you along to his meeting with his 'employers', despite his endless protests.

You always get your own way in the end.

The betting den upstairs is bustling with life, employees and customers bent over tables or watching the chalk board at the far end of the room as the odds are scribbled carelessly upon it. Caught up in what you see, you almost lose track of your brother moving towards the office towards the side of the room. You bring yourself back together, walking into the room behind him with a false air of coolness.

Your brother stops abruptly, causing you to bump into him, you stumble backwards. He gives you a look that could surely kill before turning back to the three men in front of him. Your eyes immediately meet with the piercing sapphire eyes of the one and only Thomas Shelby. You want to look away, but something inside of you can't bring yourself to do so. He watches you back, taking in every inch of the beautiful young woman that's unexpectedly been brought before him. You're trouble and he knows it, but he can't help but be drawn in by you.

"Who's this?" The gruff voice of Arthur finally breaks the silence in the room, seemingly brining everybody back into the real world. Your brother stands almost to attention, you can sense his nerves. "Oh- erm... this is my sister Y/N... just ignore her" he finally manages to stutter, Tommy raises an eyebrow, how on Earth is he supposed to ignore you? You're all he can focus on right now.

"Shut up" you mumble under your breath, for a moment forgetting who you're standing in front of. A small snigger breaks past the younger of the three men's lips, you glance over at him with a soft smirk playing on your own lips making him smirk back. Tommy watches you still, a weird sense of jealousy rumbling inside of him as your attention is drawn away from him. He lets out a cough to catch the attention of the room, but more importantly to catch your attention.

"Let's get down to business, you owe us money, so where is it?" Despite the harsh words, you cannot help but find the deep tone of Tommy's voice attractive. You sense your brother tense at the words, you look at him through the corner of your eye, wondering how exactly he's managed to get into debt with the Shelby's, especially considering he has nothing to show for the money that's clearly been spent. "I- erm... it's..." Jack starts but has no words to answer the managing three with, by the looks on their faces they are not impressed.

You take a moment to muster the courage to step in for your brother, knowing that you need to do something before he ends up hospitalised... or worse. Stepping forward, as if to partially block him, you cross your arms. "How much, exactly, does he owe?" You ask in a surprisingly smooth voice, meeting Tommy's piercing gaze with your own stern glare. All of the men in the room watch you, shocked at your brazen behaviour. Tommy finds you almost too alluring to resist, wanting nothing more than to pin you to the desk that separate you.

What in hell are you doing to him?

"Fifty pounds, he was supposed to collect some... goods... for us, but they never came and we haven't had the money back" Arthur speaks, saving Tommy from stuttering in front of you. You almost choke at the figure, knowing there is no way Jack can pay that back by himself... You, however, have some savings that may just buy him some time.

You sigh deeply, glancing at the men one last time before reaching into your bag, doing all you can to seem nonchalant, bored even. Pulling out your purse, you pull out the twenty five pounds you had been saving since god only knows when. Stepping forward, you slam the notes onto the desk in front of Tommy before shoving it towards him with a single finger.

"Consider that a downpayment" you snap sassily, more angry with your brother for being so foolish than the three men who look at you with raised eyebrows. Tommy slowly takes the money from the table, flicking through the notes to count them, glancing from the money to you every time a note passes through his fingers. You wait impatiently for the handsome man to reach his verdict, time passing agonisingly slow. He places the money back onto the desk, satisfied with the amount. "I guess I- we can accept this" Tommy stumbles over his words for the first time ever, you even notice his brothers give each other a puzzled look.

You give the men a curt nod, "good. We'll be off then" you say sharply, shoving your brother towards the door which he gladly takes as his cue to leave, moving quickly out of the room. You turn to follow him, but pause mid-stride when Tommy's voice catches you off guard, "take the money". You raise your eyebrow for the millionth time, a look that almost sends Tommy over the edge. "What?" You ask as if to make sure you heard him correctly, he pushes the money over to your side of the desk, gesturing for you to take it. "Take it" he states. Suspiciously you take the money, not once breaking eye contact with him; you shove the money carelessly back into you bag.

"What's the catch?" You ask cautiously, a small smile quirks at Tommy's lips, a flicker of something softer in the hard-faced man. "There's no catch", you can't help but snort at the words, "there's always a catch Mr Shelby" you reply in amusement, the way the name falls from your lips makes Tommy want to hear you scream it, his self-restraint wavering with every minute you stand before him.

"Let me take you out to dinner" he blurts without thought, you chuckle as a blush creeps across your cheeks. You can't help but be flattered by the interest of such a powerfully handsome man. "Now there's the catch, I guess I'll have to agree won't I?" You smile playfully, a smile flashes across his own face.

"I guess you will"
