My hair curled around my ears as it dried while I pulled on my clothes. I caught a strand of hair to see that the black was washing out, and my hair was growing out again. I smiled at this, except the only problem would be that if I kept my black hair I'd have to keep touching it up since I'd already decided to let my hair grow out. I bit my lip, thinking it would be a good idea to ask Anna what she thought since her and Jay had decided to hang out with us today before Jay and I had to work. I was looking forward to hanging out, just the five of us.
After fluffing my hair up and brushing a hand over my cut-off jeans and off the shoulder white top, I decided that I looked presentable and walked out of my room. After closing the door behind me I saw Jeremy emerge from the bathroom, running a towel through his brown hair. We smiled at each other and he threw the towel into the basket in the bathroom before he took my hand in his and we walked into the kitchen together.
Adrian silently looked up, his gaze sweeping over the two of us and I felt heat spread across the back of my neck and my cheeks. I saw him swallow and bite down on the inside of his cheek, before he got up and poured coffee for the two of us. I took a seat on one of the stools as Adrian placed the cups down in front of us and Jeremy took a seat on my left. We all drank our coffee in silence, and I could feel Adrian bristling with tension. It didn't help that he was sat two stools away from me, usually we would sit right next to each other, even when all of the other stools were empty. I couldn't help but feel a little guilty. We'd spent the night together and here I was this morning, the girlfriend of our roommate. I didn't want to know what Adrian thought of me.
Thankfully the silence was interrupted by Anna and Jay walking through the door and I saw Anna sniff the air and grin when she smelled the coffee. I rolled my eyes at her and got up to pour coffee for them, which emptied the rest of the coffee pot, so I placed it back under the machine, ready to make more coffee for later. Honestly the five of us got through about eight pots of coffee throughout the day, and that had doubled with the amount of people hanging out in the apartment everyday. It was a good thing that the apartment Jeremy, Adrian and I had was so spacious but I suppose we had Jeremy's parents to thank for that though.
Anna nodded when I handed her the coffee over and she passed Jay's over to him, before they sat opposite us. I watched Anna's eyes glancing between Adrian and I as she noticed the space between us before she frowned at me and I gave her a half smile as Jeremy wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me in to kiss my temple. I bit my lip at the contact, still feeling guilty about what had happened since Adrian hadn't spoken to either of us since we walked in the kitchen.
"So how are you this morning Liz?" Anna asked, sounding worried. I shrugged and smiled at her.
"I'm fine, much better than how I was feeling last night" I shrugged and glanced at Adrian out of the corner of my eye, to see him smiling to himself. I had to bite down hard on my cheek to keep myself from also smiling. Anna nodded slowly.
"You know you don't have to act strong around us. If you want to cry you can cry, we won't judge you" she sighed, eyeing me carefully and I laughed lightly.
"Thanks for that Anna, but after last night I don't think I have any tears left. You're safe, don't worry. Besides I've realised that I need to get over everything and move on" I sighed shrugging, causing Jeremy's arm to bobble and he nodded next to me.
