Rachael La Bronx was considered as one of those people that people know but also don't know. Popular enough to be invited to parties but low enough that the popular people wouldn't talk to her by will. She was just there like a shadow moving among others.
However, that didn't mean she had freedom from the Royals. No one had freedom from the royals.
They were at the top of the social hierarchy at Damington Prep and there were 'Nobles' and at the bottom was the 'peasants'. The Royals could use you whenever they wanted to and you had no right to object. They were masters at manipulation, bribery, blackmail and almost anything else that they could do to be able to control you.
But there was one main person behind the scenes the one pulling all those invisible strings.
Aiden Coulston.
The King of Damington Prep. No one in the school had more power than him, not even the Royals combined together. He was rich, powerful, handsome but no one knew how dangerous he could be. Rachael was just lucky enough to find this out in the summer before senior year.
The dark brown haired girl stepped out of her black Range Rover that she received as a git on her 16th birthday. With a mocha latte from Starbucks in her hand, she walked up the steps of the school. Her uniform was all neat especially for the first day of school, her plaid dark blue skirt was freshly ironed and her white shirt showed not a single crease. She ditched her jumper as it simple far too warm to be wearing cashmere but wore her black blazer that had the school's crest embroidered on it.
She walked over to her locker making sure she didn't falter in her steps as she couldn't afford to make herself a laughing stock on the first day back. She opened her locker and checked her makeup with the little mirror placed inside. After grabbing necessary books and feeling satisfied with her appearance she closed her locker and proceeded to go to her first class of the new academic year.
Rachael was about to throw away her drink when a girl with short black hair called out to her.
"That goes in the recycling," the girl simply stated. Rachael quickly scanned the bin she was about to throw the cup in.
"Oh, sorry I didn't notice," the girl who she could tell was probably a sophomore, hummed a reply.
"You should notice. I mean you don't want to be dubbed as a 'Planet Killer' do you know?" She said in almost a threatening tone.
"No," she raised her eyebrows at the way the girl was speaking she wanted to tell her that she shouldn't be talking to a senior like that but brushed it off as she had no time for sophomores like her.
She walked away from the black-haired girl and dropped her cup in the nearest recycling bin. She looked back at the girl and gave her a smile that shouted 'are you happy now' and the girl just stared back emotionless. Rachael rolled her eyes as she continued walking to her first class.
'The younger ones just get ruder and ruder' she thought as she walked away.
She checked her phone for any new school year gossip. The school has a private page where all the secrets, gossip and scandalous news are leaked. No one knows who runs it but whoever it is, does have a lot of intel though.
'It's like we're in Gossip Girl or something'
The start of the year was when a lot of news are released as summer had just past and that is when rich kids like to thrive. People come back from the exotic holidays saying how they hooked up with someone that they will probably never see again or how they threw a wild party that the police had to shut it down. Whatever you could think of the kids of Damington Prep have probably done it.

Newsflash,
Camryn Wells partied so hard with some Upper East Siders that the night glamorously ended with a stomach pumping at the hospital.
Hope you feel pumped for the new school year, Camryn

Rachael knew that Camryn went to New York to meet some friends over the summer but she didn't expect her to end up having her stomach pumped. Camryn was one person you would least expect to see at a party. Something like this would make her rise through the social ladder. The meek quiet girl turned party rager!
The brown-haired girl looked up from her phone to see Camryn Wells closing her locker. People around her were muttering about the recent news and she shyly tucked a piece of hair behind her ears. The girl felt a bit bad for her. She wasn't used to this much attention and she certainly didn't know how to react with the fact that practically the whole school knows about her little experience.
Rachael continued walking until she reached her first class, AP English. She entered the class and took a seat in the middle row close enough to the front that she can pay just enough attention and far enough so that she can hear any useful gossip.
Students started filling up the classroom and as Rachael predicted most of the popular people lingered towards the seats at the back.
'Perfect'
The teacher soon came in and introduced himself as Mr Henley. He gave an overview of what to expect in this course as well as the different books we should aim to finish reading by the end of the year.
The classroom door opened and in came a Royal.
Michael Saden to be exact,
"Mr Saden, how nice of you to join us," Mr Henley said. The dirty blond-haired boy smiled.
"Thank you, Sir, for having me, " the teacher didn't smile back at him but instead pointed to an empty seat which just happened to be behind Rachael's.
He walked over to the seat and sat down, unbeknown to him Rachael smirked as he did so.
She had just found her ticket into the Royals meaning she was one step closer to fulfilling her ruination of them.
