They say it takes about seven seconds to make a first impression which meant that Rachael had seven seconds to make Michael Saden aware of her presence.

She twirled her pen in her hand as she nonchalantly listened to the teacher blabbing on who knows what. Her mind wasn't on English right now, it was on Michael and how to get his attention before the lesson was over.
She thought about dropping her pen so that he would notice and give it back to her although it was quite a cliche but cliche was the only way that would work right now. She pondered on that idea realised that many things could go wrong if she does so.
The pen could land nowhere near where he was sitting, someone else could pick it up for her which would thwart her plans, it could land way to close to her that it would make sense for her to pick it up and there were many other problems.
'I guess cliche isn't always the way to go'
She kept wondering about what else she could do for most of the remainder of the lesson. She looked up at the clock and saw that she didn't have much time left. She'd have to think of something quick. This would probably be the closest she would be to a Royal and the next English class wouldn't be until tomorrow. She could wait but Rachael could not miss out on this opportunity.
Ring.
No!
Everyone around her rushed to leave the classroom whilst she sat there contemplating what to do next. She could quickly do something now or she could wait until the next day and right it seemed that waiting was the only choice left.
"You don't seem eager to leave?" A deep voice spoke. Rachael abruptly turned around to the source of the husky voice.
Michael Saden.
"I was just thinking," she stated whilst the boy playfully smirked.
"About what?"
"Life, about the meaning of life," Michael raised an eyebrow, "That's a lie. I was thinking about how boring this lesson was."
"Right," he let out a small chuckle before grabbing his bag off the table and heading out of the classroom.
Rachael packed up her stuff and sighed. She had a good seven second to make a good first impression and she ruined it by saying how she was thinking about life. She thought that would make her sound cool but in reality, it didn't. Michael was sure to think of her as a weird girl who likes to think about deep things.
She left the classroom and made her way to her next class. She dragged her feet towards the biology labs, thinking about how she messed up and that getting the attention of a Royal isn't that easy.
The Royals were not easy people to please, they never showed genuine smiles to anyone, well not in public. They kept their group small not allowing just anyone to make themselves comfortable with them. Many people tried in the past to be with them, to become like them, just to be accepted by them but they never succeeded. Being able to call any one of the Royals a close friend was merely impossible.
Rachael liked the impossible. She grew up in a household being taught that you can make anything possible. That the La Bronx's could make anything possible.
She strolled into biology and went to see the seating plan to see where she would sit. She dragged her hand around the layout of the room on the paper to see where she was. She came across her name and was surprised to see who she was placed next with.
